From the outdoors, the 2 variations look almost identical. In M350 guise, there are optional yellow DRLs as well, combined with a sportier lower bumper. Both cars and trucks look practically identical from the side, while around the back, the M350 includes a small bootleg spoiler, a phony diffuser, and a set of quad tailpipes – and they're all real!
However, while the 2 cars and trucks may look the exact same, under the skin they're absolutely various! The i3 was developed on a brand new dedicated platform; the petrol-powered 3 Series's chassis is based on that of the previous version.

There are soft-touch, premium materials throughout the cabin, and the M350 edition we have here includes a sports steering wheel and sports seats. Both the i3 and 3 Series likewise have BMW's brand new Breathtaking Vision system, with statistics extending across the length of the windscreen. There's also the choice to include a head-up display screen, but offered all the stats you require are in the Scenic Vision system, you probably do not require it.
In terms of the 3 Series, the entry-level vehicle that we'll see in the UK is fitted with the 320 engine – a 2-litre turbocharged fuel engine with 211hp and 330Nm. The range-topping M350 includes the B58 engine – a 3-litre turbocharged straight-six with an unbelievable 443hp and 580Nm! That's 50hp more than the previous edition! There will also be a plug-in hybrid automobile in the future, and BMW has validated there'll be no diesel!
When it comes to the i3, the entry-level will include a single motor that produces 170hp and 250Nm. There are other versions throughout the range, with the top-line model being the i3 50 xDrive – a dual-motor, AWD edition that produces 469hp and 645Nm!
The brand-new BMW 3 Series starts from ₤ 44,975, with the rate increasing to ₤ 66,785 for the M350. So is it worth it? And more importantly, would you choose the i3 over the 3 Series? Let us understand in the comments!
