The Koenigsegg Agera RST is BACK! And it's going up against the Tesla Design X Plaid!

This is set to be one truly interested drag race. We know the electric power of the Model X will propel it off the line, however not just is it down on power compared to the Koenigsegg, it's likewise a lot heavier! But will that show definitive?

For starters, let's examine the statistics. The Koenigsegg is powered by a 5-litre twin-turbo V8 that can produce 1,360 hp and 1,570 Nm of torque. This power is sent to the rear wheels just via a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, and the automobile weighs simply 1,395 kg. It is among the most pricey automobiles we've ever included, valued at a cool ₤ 3,500,000!!

When it comes to the Tesla, it's powered by 3 electrical motors, and these integrate to produce 1,020 hp and 1,420 Nm. The cars and truck has all wheel drive, and it weighs in at a relatively gigantic 2,468 kg. If you're seeking to choose one up today, it'll cost around ₤ 127,000.

So the Tesla weighs over a tonne more than the Koenigsegg! So does it stand a possibility? There's just one way to learn … LET'S RACE!

      I am from sweden and live not far from Koenigsegg in Ängelholm, so the sight and sound of them are daily occurrences. Sadly 9 of 10 only buys them as investments or for shows only and not as a regular sportscar. Cars are made to be used, so it’s very nice to hear that you use it as intended. 👍

    Interesting that it wasn’t raced against the faster Model S plaid. A 7 seater SUV vs a hypercar is nuts. The crazy part is how the model X beat it every time and nearly had it in the break test too

    Before anyone complaining about the Koenigsegg driver not being good enough: Perhaps he is not, but he actually uses his car as is only good and proper. In addition: he dares to go against a profesional drag racer on a multi million subscriber youtube channel despite knowing Mat is a better drag racer, Tesla’s are great 1/4 mile cars and Koenigseggs are not. The man deserves our praise, not scorn. Also he has a Koenigsegg.

    Even though it’s a fantastic car, the Koenigsegg seems to behave like a heavily tuned car: it’s quite fussy and when serious performance is asked it’s issue-prone. We’ve seen it happen on Carwow so many times. It really shows how well-engineered Bugatti’s and Porsches are.

Their reliability and durability issues stem from rapidly introducing new tech and drivetrains as compared to Japanese or American counterparts. Look at the latest M5s or almost any MB. Drivetrains change dramatically all the time.

      People tend to forget that this is a very powerful lightweight rwd car that is designed for drag racing in the last place. Germans are super focused on 1/4 mile, and now all of their cars are 4wd. Where is the fun of circuits when your cat weighs around 2 tons and more in some cases.

    Fun fact, electric cars came before combustion ones. Imagine if somehow, someway, they were cheaper than gas to produce and spread. We would have the most insane tech rn.
