I expose the TRUTH about the new Nissan Z

It's time for a Z showdown!

We have actually got our hands on a Datsun 240Z, a Nissan 350Z, 370Z & 400Z, and Mat's ready to put them up versus each other to see which is his favourite!

Not only will he be evaluating their outsides, interiors and what they're like to drive, he'll also be putting all 4 up in a drag race! The question is, which will come out on top? Let's take a more detailed take a look at the statistics …

Starting with the Datsun 240Z, it's powered by a 2.4-litre 6-cylinder that produces 153hp and 198Nm. This power is sent out to the rear wheels only via a 5-speed handbook transmission, and it's without a doubt the lightest cars and truck here, at just 1,068 kg.

We then jump from 1974 to 2005 for the 350Z. It's powered by a 3.5-litre naturally aspirated V6, which produces 300hp and 363Nm, thanks to a NISMO S tune being applied. Power is sent out to the rear wheels by means of a 6-speed manual transmission, and the lorry weighs 1,465 kg.

In 2009, the 370Z was launched. This housed a 3.7-litre NA V6 under the bonnet, which put down 331hp and 366Nm. It likewise comes equipped with a 6-speed handbook, which sends the power to the rear wheels, and it weighs in at 1,496 kg.

Finally, we come to the 400Z, which was launched in 2023. It's geared up with a 3-litre twin-turbo V6, and this produces 406hp and 475Nm. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed handbook, and it's the heaviest vehicle here, at 1,604 kg.

So will it be an easy win for the newer 400Z? Or could among the older automobiles nab it? There's just one method to find out for sure … LET'S RACE!

      @K@KSwapTheWorld69 idk if this is sarcasm but all these cars were sold in Japan as fairlady z

      According to THE PEOPLE WHO MADE THEM these are Z cars. They call them z cars. Nissan will tell you their most sold z car was the 300zx

      The people WHO MADE THEM will tell you they added the x to represent the higher level of luxury and technology in the new car

      Combination of modern turbo engine, modern emissions regulations, and modern sound regulations.

      It has to be strangled to meet contemporary rules across all its remaining markets. Plus turbo engines are always a little strangled compared to their better sounding, but less powerful, naturally aspirated (NA) brothers.

      Aftermarket exhaust systems can improve it significantly. But it will still never quite match a NA engine with an aftermarket exhaust.

      According to nissan the 280zx and 300zx are fairlady z and the 300zx was the most sold z car ever made and NISSAN who MADE THE CARS also says they added the x to these Z CARS because of the newer technology and higher level of luxury they had over previous generations.

      This video bothers tf out of me as a fairlady z fan. My family has owned 2 71 and one 70 240z, 280zx turbo, and a 300zx. I have been wanting to find another clean early 240 like my dad had 3 of for a long time and a 300zx twin turbo.

    2. @nathan4659 Avatar
      @nathan4659

      @Nite-owl No those are variants of the same car what they should have included was a 300zx and a 280zx

    3. @Nite-owl Avatar
      @Nite-owl

      @nathan4659 I disagree completely. Yes they are all based on the same chassis, but their engines are different CC, carburettors vs injection etc. That’s like saying the MK 5/6/7/8 VW golf shouldn’t be considered individual cars, because they use the same chassis, it’s bonkers. They’ll have different engine power, different suspension, different gearboxes. If they wanted to keep it accurate, they’d have included all the Z versions, just like when he’s compared different Golf R cars. I do agree that the 280zx and 300zx was a copout though.
