The stereo stalk is great once you live with it, total muscle memory logic. Things is motor journalist just spend a day with a car they never live with it.
-
lol, reminds me of my first car, a Peugeot. It also had the fuse box in the glove box and it literally took up most of the space. The owners handbook didn’t even fit in there. The best part was it was also an air conditioned glove box, at best I could just about fit a Monster in there, lol.

The one behind the steering is way to flick the volume up and down without taking your eyes off the road Mat, d-a
-
The bonnet release is usually left on the left, too.
-
not mat trying to find a glove box that doesn’t exist 😭
-
I remember they started puting the stereo controls on the colum onthe mk1 clio.
-
Well, just stop driving on the wrong side
-
so start sitting on the correct side then
-
It’s not that we don’t like british, we simply don’t have enough customers for RHD. So we put as little effort as we can in the making.
-
Solution: Drive on the (literally) Right side.
-
Alright, we’ll just swap over tomorrow
-
You know why we drive on the left and Americans and the french on the right? I’m guessing you’ll have to Google it.
-
@jonthedoors Too complicated. Cars tomorrow, busses and lorries next week.

Leave the audio controls behind the wheel on Renaults/Dacias/Alpines, etc. They have been there for nearly 40 years and they work brilliantly. Once you get used to them (5 mins), you don’t take your eyes from the road. It’s all fingertip controlled and very safe.

The stereo controls behind the wheel are awesome its something ive always loved about renault!
-
Agree. I used to drive a Peugeot and I loved that feature.

-
It’s not their fault you drive on the wrong side of the road
-
Well, everyone hates the British drive on the wrong side of the road and the steering is on the wrong side
-
Wrong

i drive a dacia with the same stalk behind the wheel and it makes a lot of sense tbh once you’re used to it. it stays in the same place whereas buttons on the steering wheel move while you’re driving lol. idk, i like it
-
I like the wheel behind it to change songs/stations.

I liked having the stereo controls on a little stalk in my old Renault traffic van. In my Transit if I hit the horn in rage I change from DAB to FM, then it searches until it finds a punjabi radio station and turns Siri on. I spend the next 5 minutes trying to figure out how to put it back 😂
-
You are driving on the wrong side.
Take the hint. -
Pug 206 had LHD windscreen wipers even on RHD cars, how was that ever allowed
-
Same in ireland i have dacias I hate the fuse box in glovebox
Like the stalks -
The C3 Picasso and a few other French cars had cross-car linkages for the pedals in RHD models because they didn’t want to move the master brake cylinder to the right side, but they also didn’t shield the linkage properly. Therefore your passenger could press down on the footwell and activate your brakes.
So the French don’t just hate us. They are trying to kill us.
