Thanks to everybody who provided us their cars and trucks for this video:
– Zeekr 8X:
– Rolls-Royce Cullinan:
It's time for a China vs Britain luxury face-off!
Mat's got his hands on the range-topping Zeekr 8X, and he's going to compare it to a 5-year-old, second-hand Rolls-Royce Cullinan to see if huge tech can genuinely unseat the king of high-end SUVs.
If you're looking solely for efficiency, it's easy to see why you might choose the Zeekr. It might just be equipped with a 2-litre 4-cylinder turbo fuel engine, but this is utilized to power 3 electrical motors which integrate to produce an incredible 1,400 hp and 1,410 Nm of torque!
In contrast, the Cullinan may have a huge 6.75-litre twin-turbo V12, however this can 'only' produce 571hp and 850Nm. Nevertheless, the Rolls-Royce is the lighter of the two at 2,660 kg, whereas the Zeekr's heavy battery tech presses it up to 2,820 kg!
But chances are, if you remain in the market for one of these 2 cars and trucks, luxury tech and quality features are likely to be top of your agenda, and both of these vehicles are stacked filled with them. Both automobiles come with soft-close automatic doors, massage seats in the front (although the Zeekr has them in the back too), and large infotainment screens in the front. Nevertheless, while the interiors of both cars are styled fairly well, the Rolls easily wins it thanks to the quality of the products throughout the cabin. Nearly any element you touch feels costly – but what else would you get out of a Rolls-Royce!
However, there's one area where the Zeekrs wins hands down – the rate. The Rolls-Royce we have here, despite being 5 years of ages and pre-owned, still costs ₤ 250,000. When it comes to the Zeekr? As new, it just costs ₤ 54,300!
So will Mat prefer the Zeekr to the Rolls-Royce? You'll require to keep enjoying to see on your own!
