If you remain in the market for a swank, family-friendly saloon, then this is simply the video for you!

We have actually got our hands on the very best, most luxurious mid-range saloons you can buy in 2023, and we're about to find out which one is the very best for you! Joining us for this video are the BMW , S4, , Genesis G70 and the DS9.

Now we understand what you're believing – the S4 costs loads more than the other cars and trucks here, and the DS9 is more of a competitor to the similarity the 5 Series and E-Class. That may be true, however the S4 is still mostly comparable in style & functionality to the other automobiles here, and as for the DS, once you include extras to these other cars and trucks, the price may be quite similar to the DS. So with that in mind, is it worth paying a bit additional and going up a class?

Well, it's time to learn! Mat's going to put all these cars and trucks through a basic evaluation, covering their designs, interior, practicality, what they resemble to drive, and what engines are readily available. Oh, and of course, he's going to launch them from 0-60mph!

      @Chris Klok it actually is 😄 huracan is literally an audi R8. 85% shared parts. The huracan gets pre assambled in germany. Engine, gearbox etc all made in germany and shipped to italy for final assembly.

    You know this will be a great video when you have more than 4 cars you are comparing against. How cool would it be to have a carwow car of the year award where you do a 3-part series showing a range of the top cars you have chosen and then decide who wins the crown after doing a series of tests and reviews for that year. Similar to how top gear do it but in carwow style.

      ​@JuiceGawdRS 4 is the top off the range if you want to compare it to the m3 and AMG… Try it in wet or snow and you will pick the Audi 😂 ( I never had a Audi but drove them a few times and I love it… Driven c class previous model and felt like a tractor and will never drive a BMW as I am not a straight line arrogant wanker 👍

      @meh I’ve driven both, I have to disagree to an extent. I do agree that the Audi is better to drive, but the G70 doesn’t feel clumsy to me, even in direct comparison. The LSD holds up well, the AWD actually feels rear wheel biased. Its a lot of fun to drive, especially when you compare it to other cars in it’s price point. Definitely blows most competition out of the water until that competition becomes significantly more expensive. That and its much more reliable

      @meh That and for the same price you get an Audi with 100 less horsepower than the Genesis. That’s for a quattro. If you want one with similar power you have to get the S4, which is much more expensive, much less reliable, has less tech and is still less power than the genesis

    Audi s4 for me (not because of the launch).
    Its just practical.
    Not a huge car neither small, not sporty but enough to have fun sometimes, not want to be luxurious but its elegant and nice looking from inside and outside.

    I drove a Genesis G70 for a week last year. The collision detection system is far too sensitive and on a few occasions it slammed on the brakes, pulled in the seatbelts and nearly frightened the life out of me and my front seat passenger. I liked the car though.

      @Ting tong Yeah, but than the car isn’t the right one for me. Because I got a sporty driving style and with this sensitive collision warner it would be doing an emergency braking maneuver all the time with my driving style. I will stick to BMWs they are made to be driven hard.

      i have a 2022, just adjust the sestting to late response or just it to warning only. so itll warn you of a Collision but you will still have to use the brakes

      @Connor with my BMW M550i I can drive like an maniac and the car doesn’t cares at all. It also do have that warner like the Genesis but I can still tailgate like crazy with that thing without anything happening. And that’s how I like it.

    Taking depreciation I think the Citroen will lose a hell of a lot in its first 3 years.
    Based on the 5 cars with the engines as tested here it’d have to be the S4 without question.
    However I’d put my own money into an M340i.

      Here in the US the Genesis cars held their values terribly prior to the pandemic. They would lose like almost 50% of their value in around 2 and half years

    Having driven all of these cars (I’m a die hard VW Golf guy) the 3 Series or X3 is just sublime. The handling, transmission, drive, power everything is up their with all the best bits of the Golf but more. Merc and Audi are great luxury cars and are equal in many other areas but the BMW is just a better ‘package’

      @_car freak_   i didn’t said it does drift ,i said i experienced more oversteer from it ,than understeer. In general rwd is more fun ,fwd is a ok thing for city or idk type of cars ,sometimez i miss the rwd experience in audis.

    New C-klasse is a great daily driver. Don’t expect “S” like comfort and suspension, but there is more than enough power to have fun, drift a bit (with 2.0L i4 non plug in hybrid), and still get 500+ miles on a tank of gas (though you either need to drive on the highway a lot or use Eco mode). This car is a great blend of luxury and cost effectiveness. The interior feels like a $70k+ car! This is what a C300 should be. (The new C63 is another story…)

      @H Gill i wudnt say it beats it, altho there isnt an official drag race between new c63 and m3 a carwow 0-60 has the new c63 at 3.02 seconds and 1/4 mile is 11.2 which is the same as the m3.

      @Emil Manoj exactly. I don’t want to start a discussion about that but isn’t it disappointing that a 680 hp car isn’t able to pull past an 510 hp car ? If I would drive the new C63 S and exactly that would happen, I would be frustrated. It’s not slower but it’s also not faster despite having a lot more power.

    Very interesting this test. What it does show is that the extra you pay for the German cars are clearly worth it. They just know how to do it well. The suspension, drive train and efficiency isn’t matched by other brands like Genesis and DS. It’s clear that all the German complexity is there for a reason. To make it better.

    Interestingly, I drove the facelifted 320d last night for the first time and this video comes up. It’s definitely a great car and the one I’d go for. However, between the a4 and the c class, I firmly believe the A4 is a better car overall than the new c class.

    I purchased an S4 (USA – gas) last year in Tango Red and I love it. Perfect combination of luxury and performance, and not near as common as MBs and BMWs.
