£40k BMW 1 Series v £40k BMW Legends: Old vs New

The Black Friday sale is now live:

If you're in the market for a , you're probably wondering which one you must pick to offer you the very best worth for money!

Well, worry say goodbye to! We've got our hands on almost every vehicle across the range, and we're about to learn whether a brand new offers much better value for cash than any other automobile across the range.

The 2024 begins at around ₤ 32,000. This automobile has a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder turbo gas engine that can provide 170hp and 280Nm through the front wheels. Nevertheless, the cars and truck we have actually here has had practically ₤ 10,000 worth of options added to it, so the price is similar to that of a whole host of pre-owned BMWs.

For example, getting an M340i from 2020 for simply ₤ 37,000 is possible. As an outcome, you're getting loads more power, thanks to the 3-litre straight-six turbo that sits under the bonnet – and all this for ₤ 5,000 less than the 1 Series!

But wait, it gets better! There's a whole host of other cars and truck types offered. Looking for an SUV? An X4 M40i or X5 40i cost comparable. Intrigued in an estate? You can get your hands on a 5 Series Touring. What's more, you can even get your hands on a 7 Series or an 8 Series Gran Coupe … All for the exact same price as a brand name brand-new 1 Series!

However naturally, there are still other elements to think about, such as running costs and depreciation. So is the 1 Series still the best worth for cash? Or should you think about something a little further up the variety? Stick to Mat for a rundown to see on your own!

Feels like manufacturers don’t care anymore cos everyone that gets these new will lease them for 3-4 years and then it’ll be sold as a used car after and people will actually buy it at that point

Because cars are status symbols, most modern buyers are caught up on the leasing model as they can’t afford the balloon payments at the end of each lease contract.
