Think EVs can't win over a real petrolhead?.
These cars might simply change your mind. From performance to driving feel, here's why even engine enthusiasts are beginning to look two times.

Id have probably swapped the 5 for the a290 gts. But I understand why you chose it, fantastic entry price to a great EV
It’s too expensive. R5 starts at 28.000ā¬. Clio starts at 20.000ā¬.
It’s a bummer. I’d immediately buy the R5.
Wish we could get the Renault here. As for the Ioniqs, Iām more than happy with my run-of-the-mill non-N 5.
Without a comparison to the chinese EV’S, this is just a hilarious exerciseš
Kia EV3ā¦.
Pretty souless compared to many other EVās.
Its very functional, but hardly the one to convince a ādrivers car buyerā into EVāsā¦
U should have made a video on top 5
Since I canāt charge at home, none of them.š
There are plentiful public chargers, go to a Tesla open to all or have a membership, boom, sortedš
Do you have a petrol pump at home?
ā@malcolmfowler8972šš
@malcolmfowler8972no , but you wouldnāt have to fill with a pump overnight; there is also a sufficient network (to service all car drivers) of nearby pumps that take 3 mins to fill. The difference of course is who controls the production of the fuel type. Electric cars will replace ice, but we are a decade or so off having the ability to support everyone having electric. So we should stop producing ICE slowly and ensure that EV technology is sufficiently environmentally friendly.
So the ionic 6n is an EV for vegans fake meat ! And I have an EV ! I also have petrol and diesel cars
Biggest issue with the 5 is the back seat which is not very usable compared to the Zoe. But cool nonetheless.
Inster all day long
that is original iconic mini concept right there
Still think the Taycan is possibly still top dog. Very good selection but still think the lowness and performance of the taycan just makes it an incredible piece of kit
I donāt WANT to feel shift changes if itās not actually shifting gears, and I certainly donāt want growls and pops from my electric car.
Honestly seeing a Renault 5 in person, it’s a big chunk of the car and less practical than the ZOE, the sizes of the tyres is off putting too. Much rather wait for the new Twingo
I’d happily have fake gears and noises, but I want it in a Fiesta-sized car and they aren’t here yet.
Alpine A290
@dcartier1692 No fake gears, and not very fast either. I’d say nicer than the Renault 5 though.
Kids will love the Hyundai Inster and nurture the next generation of EV users
Totally agree. I love the 6N
but gears? There are none in an EV, they have the torque to be without ye?
I love all the three cars you mentioned, although I would buy the Volvo and e Ioniq, but not the Renault 5. But please, please stop saying to people that this car or that goes x miles in one charge. Volvo says it will go 503miles but we all know that will be almost impossible in the real world. Simple math let us know that to be able to get that mileage, even on the bigger battery that will be available (112 kWh net capacity) the car would need to do around 13 kWh/100 kms (or 4,4miles per kwh). Even Tesla struggles to get that kind of mileage. Most probably on a normal driving style, on the motorway, the car will get 60/65% of that value, which means around 450 kms on a full battery. These are the real values that you should give to people. 455 kms is already a great range for most people and, as you said, because it has a good charging speed, you will be able to get around 200/250 kms of range on a 10 minute charge. This is the truthful way to talk to people. If petrolhead people donāt find this values interesting, well, thatās their problem. EV cars are not perfect, but they really good on so many things and better than ICE cars in so many areas. The best way to āconvinceā someone that donāt like EV cars is to give them real and truthful facts.
New iX3
Renault ruined Nissan. No thanks.
You missed the Mustang Mach E and the Toyota Bz4X.
I thought I would end up drivng a Renault Kangoo EV, but ended up with a VW Buzz. I think families would be better served with EV vans than most other types of vehicles.
And how much to buy one of these things …. If I wanted a car that pops and bangs .. I would have a petrol car that pops and bangs š
