    It’s said that Porsche will make EVs AND Hybrids, meaning we’ll most likely get ICE versions alongside EVs.

      @pauln0371

      It’s highly unlikely they will do a Hybrid Cayman and Boxster as they have spent billions developing the EV power train. Not to mention that the Macan is now EV only……

      @pauln0371  making them available with ICE powertrains means more money.

      For how long? And you can’t actually fit an ICE in an EV platform anyway, making retrofitting an ICE impractical to start with.

      @thismanagain

      @johnnodge4327  as long as Porsche can make big money, they’ll make platforms that accommodate both powertrains.

    Sam doesn’t understand EVs and is constantly trying to sell his narrative and hope that people buy into it

    Most know the two lads Tony and Sam have a slight agenda- one reviews performance Cars for his utube channel and the other is a second hand cars business owner. They don’t have a clue when it comes to EV’s and jump on anything they think suits them. I follow the EV scene closely so I just roll my eyes and ignore bits of the podcasts that I know are at best ill informed or worst just playing up for the audience. Don’t get me wrong at times they can review EV’s and give a solid fair review but they let themselves down when they don’t know what they are talking about and just reading other sites headlines. For general Car chat absolutely fine but it’s not like I’d base a car buying decision off it that would just be silly. While they try and show themselves as in the know and contacts all they do is make the channel less credible. A bit like when top gear became more a comedy/ entertainment show over a car review and news show.

    Some won’t fact-check and why because they are consumed by their hate for EV’S preferring to post their stupid pictures

    Porsche are not going to talk about cars they haven’t announced publicly. If have changed their mind they will announce their U-turn with a comprehensive marketing strategy.

    I don’t think there was any effort to deceive by Sam just talking about what here’s hearing through the grape vine and that’s often very interesting.

    They where never going to go back to ICE after spending Billions on EV drivetrains…

      I don’t know, the industry has been reluctant to fully move forward on electrification lately, despite the ev sales on a good path, some brands are even considering going back to hybrids or ICE.

      Why? Are Porsche expected to simply stop producing cars after 2035?
      Of course not, and they’re not going to slow down on EV development, as they’re already behind the market leaders by a few years.

      @MrAndreCoutinho

      @@johnnodge4327 people are getting butt-hurt with traditional brands going electric, I think they tolerate cars like suvs or the taycan, but a sports coupé/convertible like the 718 duo with an e-powertrain is capable to cause rage among the purists, if Porsche decides to release the 911 as ev only, my god, it’s the end for them (in the square heads minds).

    Nicola in a way Sam is correct. So maybe you should do your research? An engine by definition is an electric motor or an internal combustion engine! It always bugs me when in the early days ev we’re stated no engine! 😅 but it’s the worst thing ever! Sports car being an bev! Thanks but no thanks
