Europe is fighting back against the Chinese onslaught! Well done Citroen and Renault great vision. I am looking at buying my next electric car and was considering Far Eastern, I’m now going to hang on and get myself a new Citroen πŸ‘πŸ‘

I agree with you. I will change to an electric car in the coming 18 months. I have put Skoda Epiq, Hyundai Inster, Renault 4 E-Tech and Kia EV3 on my list. I wish that CitroΓ«n made an electric new version of the CitroΓ«n C4 Grand Picasso seven seater. Come on, CitroΓ«n.

@@L.A.Tex_Norway The Inster is a KIA model, expect Hyundai to have n equivalent, though.
Unfortunately, I don’t really see that Europe is fighting back. Any time you spec a European rival to the standards that KIA/Hyundai and BYD, you find that European comes in at between 10K and 20K more expensive, and it seems that the only European country which is intending to produce reasonably priced, dedicated EVs is Renault. Stelantis just don’t seem interested and although VAG has a dedicated EV chassis, their base trim levels are dreadful and they rapidly become way overpriced as soon as you look at anything else. I mean, seriously, an iD3 specced to the same standard as an MG4 costs significantly MORE that a Hyundai Ioniq 5 or KIA EV6!

@@davidcolin6519 So you’ve not looked at the prices of the R5 or C3, cheaper than the Insta.

@@Payteer WTF are you talking about?
The Inster is expected to sell at €22K, while the R5 is expected at €27K (base models for both).
BTW, I am not in the least interested in any of the “multi fuel” vehicles. I see absolutely no point in dedicating an entire compartment of an EV to an engine that isn’t even going to be there. That means that the C3 is not even in the running.
The R5 is expected at pretty much the exact same price as the EV3 where I am. And the base EV3 will almost certainly come with a far higher spec than the R5. It certainly has more power and more claimed range as well as significantly better performance. From what I’ve seen, the Inster has similar performance to the R5 nad would appear to have significantly better rear room.

I’ve been saying it for ages now, The French are leading the way forward with car design and innovation. Germany seems to be mired in its (overpriced) past….

What are they actually killing ? Renault’s most important shareholder is the French state and politically they have to produce more EV’s in order to reduce France’s dependency on oil from abroad. China has successfully shown that oil usage can be reduced by producing more EV’s and using green hydrogen for HGV’s.

Citroen, Renault are really “hitting the mark” in my opinion and I would REALLY love to see these for sale in Canada ! The 4th world of EV’s, most especially anything affordable with value. Stellantis is also in North America but without the GOODIES ! head-shake.

A suggestion about the Auto-show vids. The concept cars are nice to see, especially the ones that are actually going to production quite soon, but the ones that are just “Show Ponies” should maybe be left to a separate video for us to oggle over. πŸ˜‰ It would have been nice to see other new production models

Retro designs have a limited shelf and only appeal to those who remember the original design. Ford now have the Mustang in their line up as the global sports car, so probably using the Capri name was a little to far for a SUV

I think Citroën is having a great moment with creative models, that make us, fans of cars, back to times where cars were different from each other. The new C3 is a good city car, this new restyled C4 seems much better and upmarket and the future C5 Aircross promises to be a distinctive top of the range. Congratulations for the fight Citroën. Your founder, Andre Citroen should be proud. ❀
