    In the current time it feels like that outdated is an advantage

    I owned a 2022 Karoq for a year, it had so many problems and work carried out under warranty. I got rid of it before the warranty ran out. Gone back to my 2014 Yeti which has never let me down.

    Thanks for your very informative video. I still have my 2018 (68) 1.5 petrol Karoq with relatively low mileage and love the car. I would definitely consider replacing it with a newer Karoq so this video was helpful and informative when considering alternatives. Don’t like tbe shape of the Sportages and not sold on the Quashqai’s either. The Hyundai Tucson’s seem expensive by comparison but a lot will depend on deals available. Thanks again for informative video.

      @@doncuadrado8489 Don’t do it. Keep your 2018 car as long as possible. The quality and reliability of Post COVID cars (2020) is poor.

      Not imminent. The car has been good to me with no major problems apart from normal wear and tear. I see you had a 2022 model and had multiple problems. You were just unlucky in my opinion but you at least had the benefit of the warranty. I’m clocking up roughly 250-300 miles weekly just commuting (mainly motorway) but like I said for a 2018 model it’s relatively low mileage.

      @doncuadrado8489  According to the mechanic at the dealership, they are having more and more problems these days. Reliability has suffered as they try to increase profits.

    46 Year old here (UK) Looking to downsizing my 7 seater SUV. I’ve tried and looked at many cars from Skoda/VW/Kia etc from small to mis SUVs, new EV ones too over last 2 months….

    And likely to go with the Karoq….. So functional with little to complain about against a backdrop of cars that have shiny things but miss on the functional importance.

      I am 60 and always had larger cars. My last was a 7 seater. I decided on the Karoq Sportline and I love it. It is comfortable, quite nippy, well equipped and it’s lights are the best I have seen on any car. It is also very economical. The only negatives for me is that the sound is not as good as my last car but that was the top of the range with a flash sound system and some of the safety features I had as standard, were extra with Skoda which is irriatating today. Mine is a 24 plate.

    I’ve always thought the Karoq was the right size for a family car in the UK. Spacious, but not too large for our tight country lanes and parking bays.
    The only thing is I know someone that had one and it wasn’t very reliable. Lots of electrical gremlins and it ended up having it’s engine replaced by 65k. So whilst the quality is there externally you still have the underlying issues with that generation of VW’s. So this is a car that’s perceived quality is better than more modern rivals, but it’s not as reliable as the Yeti that went before it.

    Car interiors, buttons, fit and finish where much, much better pre-covid. Just look at the Mini interior, old and new. Old one was mini-Bentley, metal effect switches etc, everywhere was plush to touch. New mini is awful, scratchy, crap finishes like a cheap trainer shoe. Same with Golf, Mk7 and 7.5 visibly better than current models. Karoq just carries on being good. Its not true the latest cars are “better”, no they’re just different.

    Had a 1.6tdi from 2019-2023 covering 60k miles.Seats uncomfortable,some gremlins but great on fuel and had good handling.Has become an expensive car imho.

    So you are now reviewing a 3 year old car designs and stating list price, which is almost irrelevant as £5k discounts can be found.

    1. @brianiswrong Avatar
      @brianiswrong

      List price is certainly relevant if it goes over 40k regardless of your discount at time of buying.

    Skoda Octavia sport line e- tec owner, 50 to the gallon around town , best ive had on motorway, 72 to the gallon and thats in the winter, diesel engines are finished with emissions being fed back to the engine, ive had every generation of superb all diesels , the early ones on over 250000 miles the last 2016 model all fully serviced by Skoda at the correct times was done at 140000 miles, and they are not getting any better.

    I have a family member with a 2023 Karoq and the interior if so much better than some other brands inside and the infotainment system works flawlessly, although a slightly smaller screen than some newer models it’s perfect for the size of the car and for the market it’s based at, and so much better than VWs newer software.
