So £40k and 400 miles, that looks like a contender for the EV crown and not made in China, another first. I’m assuming the batteries are from France or Europe as well ?

Yes battery cell should come from Stellantis JV with Total (and recently Mercedes) called ACC, made in the North of France

Technologies and build quality coming from China are superior Zeekr X, Smart #3 Volvo EX30 etc

@protagonist Tax imports up coming, subsidies reserved for local manufacturers and green stickers highlighting China’s reliance on coal to make cars

@protagonist9716 The EX30 looks good on the outside, but inside it is such a joke! the empty dashboard looks like the hard recycled speckled plastic of a public garbage container sold for the price of a fine Italian designer sofa.
As for the Zeekr X, it’s the contrary: gorgeous interior but an unnecessary complicated exterior design that looks like a Transformer.
      The Smart #3 is okay.

Battery cells are still coming from China for now, but the battery packs are assembled in France. And soon the battery cells will be produce by the JV ACC, first factory has been launch last month in north of France

Right Stellantis now please get down to giving us an e-Giulietta that looks like an Alfa and not like all the other electric cars available.

Hopefully it’s efficient! It will only get 400 miles if it can achieve around 4 miles per kWh. At least it should be able to get over 300 miles which is pretty impressive.

Already with the previous platform, efficiency is great so we can expect even better numbers with this new one

the back and the inside of it is just a MASTERPIECE
…the front is kinda alright, but will be fixed in the facelift, just like the current was.

Hope they have sense not to encumber the car with the vestiges of ICE in the platform – transmission tunnel, narrow wheel base, placement of batteries or motors, gear selector etc. A transmission tunnel should count as an instant fail in an EV but those other things matter too

Looks pretty good. I am wondering…. if they change the back part of the 2022 3008 model, with this new design, how would it look. 🤔

Wow Peugeot were already killing it with there designs since like 2017 now there just getting even better

Looks really nice. My previous diesel 3008 diesel, which went in 2021 when I switched to EV, was my wife’s choice for best car I have owned. But I am a bit sceptical about the range. To get 435 miles from 98kwh is nearly 4.4 miles / kwh. Will a big square lump like this really get that sort of efficiency? Sounds fanciful to me.

Still – might be on my shortlist when my next change is due. Probably not new though – the bigger battery version in GT spec is almost certainly going to be £50k +

To be fair, in mind temps (18°C) the RWD Model Y achieved 4.37 mi/kWh in Bjorn Nyland 90km/h test. So at similar speeds, if it’s been designed well, the e3008 should be able to get close. I mean 4 mi/kWh would be pushing on for 400 miles of real world range.

    2. Richard Avatar
      Richard

@Steven Ross I think 400 real world would be awesome. But I need to wait until the reviewers such as Bjorn get their hands on it and take it on a 1000 mile challenge to find out for sure. I think 360 is probably more realistic.

    3. Steven Ross Avatar
      Steven Ross

@Richard even 360 is still excellent and far more than most families will probably travel in one go anyway.

Looks smart but would have liked a 4wd variant with the larger battery option and more hp…. also can’t see rear a screen wiper ….if missing that’s very very bad news.

Stellantis has built a giga factory in france for batteries and others EU countries (germany and italy after) . It ‘s a partnership Stellantis – Mercedes – Total energies.

There is a lot to like, but I’m not sure about that really high dashboard; apart from possibly partially blocking the windscreen, it feels a bit claustrophobic. I actually prefer the older dash… The range is excellent, but I suspect the the version with 435 miles of range will be pretty expensive. 326 miles on the lower spec version is very good and so is the heat pump. Charging speed sounds good too.
