GJ. It’s also available with a 10 speed AMT in the PHEV variant, what’s your opinion on that?

Some markets call it the MG EHS PHEV.

It’s on my short list to avoid the luxury car tax that cuts in at £40,000

I don’t see the point in having a petrol plug in hybrid your paying for charging plus paying for petrol plus its a mg

Erm. You missed the point by further than the MG can travel on electric power alone. You buy less petrol, because you charge at home (on the cheap) for the local runs (school, work, shopping), whilst you deploy the engine for longer runs out. You won’t be visiting an expensive fast charger (mainly because it doesn’t charger that fast) but mainly because why would you when you can go the petrol station? You only ever destination charge a PHEV, usually on a AC charger.

@@rikkiseddook. You go buy one, then. But count me out. My 2024 full ICE turbo does 58 mpg and 0-60 In 9 secs, ample for UK roads.

@@rikkiseddo not a chance it does that iv had a bmw the same plug and hybrid complete waste of money paying for petrol and electricity if you can’t charge at home then works out expensive il stick to my lexus hybrid and get 78mpg round town

Thanks for the video. You sure this is a perforated steering wheel? 😉 As far as I remember these are only pits in the fakeleather, no real perforating. ^^

Yep. British brand. Akin to British Leyland. Even millions pumped in by SAIC can’t save it. Let’s face it, no British brand is ever going to take you to the far side of the moon.

@mkwok111  What Car 2024 ranked MG last for reliability out of 31 manufacturers so no moon needed.

the problem with PHEVs as company cars is that when you’re not paying for the fuel, people don’t use the EV part, studies show, which sucks.

It was in the Daily Mail. So, maybe fake news🤔😉. But apparently, the UK MOD has purchased 2000 MG evs and ordered its officers not to hold military sensitive conversions in them for fear of bugging devices in the infotainment system😂

Do you have any information on the quality of the steel being used or the anticorrosion protection? Is it as good as my 20 year old Golf or more like an Alfasud ?

Make it so you have to charge the battery or it won’t work and then see how many environmentally conscious company car owners still get a PHEV.

I’ve had my MG HS PHEV Trophy since 20th Dec paying just under £3200 , 2700 miles still only used 1/2 tank of petrol and the dealer filled it with fuel as part of the deal ! Great car. Would recommend to anyone. Main issue is the monitoring system that you have to turn off every time you start new journey but you just get used to it. Just need to remember the price you are paying. Cannot be matched for the range and price.. hopefully will still feel the same in a couple of years. Previously had a ford Kuga PHEV.
