    Hyundai Group as a whole is really on a tear lately, and this new KIA EV5 is good example, just perfect daily family SUV.

    I’m disappointed its on uses the 400v charging infrastructure, pretty slow compared to the competitors. Why not add the same as the EV6 and EV9. Also the mileage is pretty poor at 319. It’s a nice car, loads of features, but coming from an EV6 does it really cut it ? I’ll find out when i eventually test drive.

      What competitors? Other than Hyundai Group everyone else in this segment is still offering 400v hardware.

      Just because the peak charge rate sits at 130 kW doesn’t mean it’ll be noticeably slower to fill up than a Škoda Enyaq with its 185 kW charging speed because it all comes down to the charge curve and how long the battery can charge at its peak.

      185 kW or even the 250 kW touted by the Tesla Model Y aren’t nearly as much quicker than the EV5’s 130 kW in real life as the numbers on paper make it sound like because the peak drops off pretty quickly anyway.

      And I’m not sure why this even needs to be explained but the EV6 and EV9 are more expensive and more desirable cars so they obviously get better hardware.
