Saw one in Macclesfield yesterday, wondering what brand was that while also suspecting that it may be a Chinese brand! I don’t really care if it is a Chinese company or not but I would never buy a car with the name Jager Cool!

I have seen the phev version on offer at £28k which would make it significantly cheaper than the rivals. It doesn’t help with it’s driving limitations though.

Don’t forget the BRITISH insurance companies that hate new cars without parts and dealership backup. So a Chinese unknown brand could cost you so much more. Some brands cannot even be insured.

Agreed my son in law was a service and parts manager for MG for a major distributor. He could never get a reply to his requests for parts which took months to arrive if ever. Your right Insurance is high and he soon left for a another brand Audi where he is so much more happier.

The name Jaecoo by itself is pretty awful. Is that harsh? I think not. I bet most buyers of chinese cars in the UK are the same EU flag waving remain types, oblivious to the fact they help decimate the european car industry.

Just bought a petrol J7 after test driving it and also a number of much more expensive brands over several weeks, and I love it! Drives lovely and loads of kit, quality and well built interior. Two negatives for me, you do feel the more severe road bumps, and it has so much safety kit, it bings and bongs a lot, so you have to turn these off for each drive if it bothers you. I’m ok with it but my wife gets annoyed by these overly sensitive sensors. Anyway other than that, I am very happy with a car not priced for a second mortgage, that drives well, comes with loads of kit for the money and has a 7 year warranty. I used to love the Ford Ecosport when reviewers like WhatCar didn’t like it. Keep an open mind and judge for yourself.

A 7 year warranty on a Jaguar or even a Nissan would have to come with a degree of optimism. This time next year that warranty and dealer back up may be similar to what is provided by Fisker.
