Is this new version subject to the recall that existing Kugas have had? They were told not to charge the car until further notice

They sorted out the styling. And the space is good as well. Good car.

Oh come on you seriously couldn’t recommend this over a Tucson or Sportage lol . The interior looks like its from 1989 compared to them and its American which means its rubbish. I only see old dears driving these ,same with the Puma no wonder Fords in trouble in europe their customers are dying out !

In trouble? Pumas and Kugas are selling like hot cakes. Yes the Tucson and Sportage are slightly nicer and have better, more powerful (but not more economical) powertrains, but the difference in price is just huge. Where I live a fully optioned Kuga is almost 10k euros cheaper than the equivalent Tucson or Sportage.

Rather bigoted made-up response from yourself that untrue especially re Puma.

Old dears? Really. I test drove the 2.5 FHEV and it’s really nice to drive, better than the sportage. The kia probably looks better and in some ways has better interior. Test drove the cx 5 too, too slow no hybrid. Next is austral.
      Ford have a European arm

@@LIONtib in 2024 in Europe they sold 105k kuga’s, while figures for Tucson are 154k and Sportage 168k, so idk about “hot cakes”. Ford sales were -16% in 2024 compared to 2023, they dropped out of top 10 manufacturers even

Ah yes, climate control buttons being replaced by crappy plastic in their place and the cluster of buttons on the middle console by a little cubby, just perfect…

Does it have a digital cockpit that can display nav?

No idea why anyone would want this.

As of today, it does not. Maybe they’ll update the software to support this in the future, but I wouldn’t count on it.

Please stop “normalizing” a row of buttons dedicated to HVAC is not as bad. It is bad, in a bumpy road or even just wavy, trying to touch the “button” on the screen is near impossible.

@@HugoParedes I don’t get this either. Yes it helps if they are not buried in menus but still less than ideal.

Exactly. When I leave my house, the road is cobblestone. It’s not “Belgian” style, like we saw in Top Gear, but still. When I try to use the touch screen I constantly miss the target.

      @TL-xw6fh

It is positively dangerous. I’ve done it many times before, pressing the wrong button and then becoming distracted trying to find out what I pressed wrongly and trying to correct it, all the while not looking at the road!

I have this car. Sync 4 has it’s benefits, but the screen is poorer than the previous version. The rear camera is offset so views and angles are just not right and images are poorer at night. Too much power is sent through the front wheels leading to a lot of wheel spin and the Automatic Emergency Braking is way too sensitive to be left on daily.
Picked this over the Tucson and Sportage just down to it understated quality and ride.

Ford has just announced safety recalls for its phev. Second recall and advising owners not to charge as risk of fire. Came out in the Guardian 2nd April.

Do these have the same eco boost engine problems, heat thermometer problems and coolant problems the for galaxys have had over the past 15 years?

I have a mk3 Ford focus, when I want to change the temp or fan speed or where the air is coming from I can keep my eyes on the road and adjust everything without looking, dunno how this is a better system.

I have the ST Line X PHEV of this generation and it’s a very competent car. The HVAC controls in the display are atrocious, and there are software niggles sometimes. Very roomy and quite quiet inside, but nothing about the car excites me, sadly.

Big mistake removing hand dials. Design nothing special, wouldn’t even notice it ,out and about. and interior dull. 😅

I’ve a Tucson Hybrid, what’s now the previous model. Apart from some minor issues (those touch buttons!!!), to me the biggest one is that the hybrid system doesn’t work as many times as it should. Often the battery has to be charged 3/4 for it to kick in. It’s a waste in my opinion and hurts the fuel consumption.
