    One of the explanation for the name could be that the BYD just playing with the letters (S)eal (S)ix and thinking it’s more memorable.

    As a BYD owner in the UK, my advise would be – do not buy BYD cars, terrible service, their service infrastructure is not there yet.
    They push for more sales without the network to support those vehicles. Do your own research and see how many problems those cars have.
    Btw, this is a brilliant review of the vehicle!

    I just looked at the review of this car by Thomas of Autogefühl, and he said the exact opposite about this car’s suspension than this guy. I think I trust Thomas better than this guy and for that matter than any English car reviewers.

    1. @haukikannel Avatar
      @haukikannel

      It depends… I am sure that BYD has softer suspension than German cars… but this may have firmer suspension than China cars in general.. ot depends on what you compare it.
      Also roads in UK are much worse than in Germany and speed in kotorway is much slover in UK than in Germany. That also affect a lot!

  12. @urbanstrencan Avatar
    @urbanstrencan

    Suprised to say but actually really like what BYD did with this Seal 6, especially Touring versions. Looks really good, the platform underneath it is well tested and proven by other BYD models. But to really compete with the best, like any other Chinese car, it needs improvements in driving dynamics, chassis tuning. This is what VW should offer with its Golf Variant and Škoda with Octavi estate versions, the proper plug-in hybrid models.

    1. @davidy7004 Avatar
      @davidy7004

      You can get a Seat or Cupra Leon estate with the 1.5 PHEV powertrain which has good EV range, fast charging and very similar underpinnings to an Octavia. As someone else commented that would be a better comparison than the Passat with the same powertrain.

  13. @JaimeWhite-s1j Avatar
    @JaimeWhite-s1j

    If your comparing like for like then why not compare the Seat/Cupra Leon Phev estate rather then Corolla. Price wise these would be closer than Passat too.

    1. @davidy7004 Avatar
      @davidy7004

      I was thinking the same – both Leons with the new 1.5 PHEV setup have more EV range than the BYD too.
      I believe they have essentially the same powertrain as the Passat and its Skoda Superb twin.

      Yeah, I know Kia’s making a new estate to replace the Ceed SW but it’s petrol only (as far as we know) and an estate version of the upcoming stinger revival, Skoda is working on an electric estate, I’d imagine Volvo might bring an electric estate to the market, not sure about others
