Interior wise, the old XC40, no doubt.

It would be massive failing of Audi if the Q3 wasn’t better than a 10 year old car

It’s not really a 10 year old car. It’s a 10 year old platform that has been upgraded and refined over the years, new engines and infotainment system in 2023 for example

Plus, as makers blow their R&D budgets on EVs the development of ICE models has been pretty much frozen for the last decade … Take the VAG 1.5 engine, feels like it’s been around a LONG time.

The Volvo is just the right size and premium feeling! Missing Will Nightingale🥺🥺

Prefer the Volvo but would look at a Kia Sportage especially if I am going to keep it long term due to the warranty.

Look up the petrol particulate filter issues the kias have and you wouldn’t buy one…

You do realize these cost twice as much as the kia, riiight?

The outside of the Audi looks nicer, but the interior of the Audi just looks so cheap

I like the big screens on the Audi, but that is it…. Everything on the Volvo looks better.
The biggest issue with both of these cars, is you have to be very careful to not cross the £40k luxury car tax….

Another tax that hasn’t moved with inflation.

My previous comment criticising the fiscal drag nature of the tax policy has disappeared. Thanks YouTube for allowing me to express my opinion

When it comes to finance…. £675/mth for a 1.5 Ltr engine… The Audi is a very expensive option. When the Volvo is £500/mth.

2nd time What Car refers to the real metal dashboard inserts on the Q3 as plastic. Get informed!!! The insert also comes in a natural openpore tulip wood if you want something warmer.

I own a 2019 Q3 fully loaded options with 2.0 petrol 198HP engine and am very satisfied. Interior is excellent, exterior I love the way it looks compared to the Volvos boxy look.

In recent years, the material quality and fit & finish from Audi has been disappointing. VW Group made them bigger than they should be and their declining quality shows.

Whatever new car it is, unless its under £200 pcm, the PCP or HP deals are unaffordable to most UK families.

The cheap Audi Interior is enough to not choose it for me.
A lot of hard plastic, touchsensitive buttons, and they havent even hide the exterior colour in the doors in this model.

I take the volvo and live with the oldschool but well build interior.

In my book its a good thing Volvo is car almost 10 years old.
Because 10 years ago cars were better than new ones!

I have an xc40 and it is an excellent all rounder. Quiet cruiser and gets me 45+mpg on a motorway run.

The rear of the Volvo has always disappointed, front looks sharp but the rear looks rounded, the up lights don’t work, it’s too 2000s.

It’s still a great car and a top seller in the segment!

Audi is now charging premium prices for low grade, cheap looking products. I refer, in particular, to the interior of the car.
Audi has now moved from an aspirational car Brand to ‘not worth the money’. I say this as an owner of 2024 Q3 Sline sportback, bought new.
Following the recent reviews/price launch of the new Q3,, I haven’t and will not be considering another Audi.

Drove both, good cars, prefer the Volvo. Audi is more dynamic, Volvo is the better cruiser, it’s more comfy. I also prefer the sound system in the Volvo. I will respectfully disagree with people who say that Volvo’s screen is too small (it’s the size of an iPad mini — the whole Mini, with bezels). I actually prefer this screen size if it’s well integrated into the dash, which it is. It does what it needs to do. But I generally don’t use infotainment screens very much. Set everything up when you first get the car, use Carplay, enjoy.

The ubiquitous VAG 1.5etsi engine shouldn’t be anywhere near “premium” products, simply lacks the necessary refinement

Audi interiors of late seem to show the cost cutting going on at the company and is a real shame for a brand that was known in the past for having one of the best interiors and build quality. XC40 as old as it is just looks more premium on the inside and this is a car that is due for a replacement in 2027!
