MG has a great small 2 door hatch in the Comet and a winner in the Windsor here in India. Even the ZS EV has its dedicated fans here.

Where they missed the trick is in not offering a proper 4 door, 5 seat, sub 4 m hatch, which is the largest selling category of cars in India.

Tata Tiago EV, starting at about 7000 pounds has been a runaway hit here.

A nice improvement on the ZS, and it’s nice to see they’ve listened to feedback. Although customer support for older vehicles would be helpful!

It just needs some slightly more proportional wheels and it looks pretty decent. I’d consider one if I was buying new.

It’s a shame they haven’t put the 75kwh in it.

I have an MG4 Long Range. Love it BUT the centre screen is dreadful, very unrepsonsive, software is hideous, I hope they improve that (and it sounds like they have). Very troubling too to see all the racist comments here.

I have got the same. The infotainment system is poor and the CarPlay only works with a wireless adapter but generally I am very happy with the car. Drives well and range is great. No problems so far

Wheels always look too small on the MGs, they look lost in the arches

Too small for what ? Too small to give crappy ride quality ? Too small for an unnecessary loss of range ?

This unsuspecting looking SUV would destroy the absolute majority of ICE vehicles in acceleration 😂

Our expectations have changed. Only since EVs came on the market do we expect sportscar+ performance from even the cheapest models.

I’m with you, Nicola. The MG 5S is an amazing EV…especially at the price point. The only disappointment that I can see at the moment is the L2 charging speed. Would I like to see greater efficiency? Absolutely. After all, the 5S has the same battery capacity as my 2022 Bolt EUV Premier, which is rated at 3.8 mi/kWh, yet 4 years on and the 5S achieves essentially the same efficiency.

Incidentally, the original window sticker for my car when new was $44K when new!

If they put the extended range 77kW battery in there that they have in the MG4 I’d be seriously interested, looks a much better car than its predecessor.

Looks like the 4×4 will be around £38,000, tempting, must go on a test drive next month.

The zs was common as mud round here and everyone I spoke to said it had issues and mg weren’t great at sorting it. Maybe this is a big improvement. Not for me though.

Couldn’t agree more. The SUV’s are looking so boring. I wonder if the bubble will burst and everyone stops buying them.

Being able to customise your setting so you can switch off all those driving ” aids” in 1 go is a brilliant idea. I bet there’s other manufacturers thinking “why haven’t we done that” well done MG 👍

Better still would be a combination of the MG system with the Kia 1 button switch for LKA, and I remain convinced that it’s only a matter of time before the systems get hacked to permanently disable them.

I can see a future where insurance companies will want to download a log of all the driver safety settings that you’ve switched off to disqualify any accident claim.

They’re already buying bulk car data and have been for a decade. E.g. Jaguar

It says on other forums that insurance companies can take the stance that if you turn off safety equipment that could have helped in an accident then they would only cover third party in a claim.
Another car hire company said that if you turn off any of the driving aids you won’t be insured in an accident.
I’d love an expert confirmation to see if this is correct
