Congratulations! Mercedes has finally caught up with the tech and features of similar Chinese vans that cost 1/4 as much.

Very true, Denza D9, Xpeng X9, BYD Xia, Voyah Dreamer, Zeekr 009, Li Mega, Geely V900, GAC M8 have been offering all these features for years

Not worth comparing Chinese market internal prices with EU internal prices. Different economics.

Would love to see an honest @Electrifying value comparison between this £100k Mercedes VLE and £40k Xpeng X9 or Denza D9!

A nice example of how to show that you haven’t seen the whole video without actually saying so.
Even if we included the premium pricing strategy in the UK, you would never get £100k from the German €79k. It would be more likely to be in the range of £72k–£75k.

@Dqtube Thanks for your comment. I see you are the one who didn’t watch the review. The base (cheapest) model starts for £72k, will only have basic manual seats, no fridge etc. So anything remotely comparable to £40k Denza D9 will be £100k+ Mercedes 🤣

@–DMThanks for your comment! I see I haven’t watched the whole video because I can’t stand the horrible script!

      Did I do it right?

Merc looking at BMW grilles and saying, “Anything you can do, we can do bigger!” Did the designer have a basking shark moment? I wonder if there’s a grille delete option.

Nerdy engineer moment. The Cd figure is shape dependant not size dependant. The VLE, Buzz and a bar of soap have the same basic shape, thus a similar Cd number.

Ginny, I bet the Aerodynamicist’s weren’t very happy to see the end result, especially when they saw that outdated prominently placed Mercedes badge in the middle of the bonnet ruing all their good work… 🙂

The external appearance is quite good – except for that grille which is repulsive. We most hope for a refresh which gets rid of it.

Sounds like the van I’ve been waiting for… now I just need to win the lottery and my life will be complete. Seriously though, it’s good that someone is making a van with decent range because I’m not upgrading to electric until the range is decent.
