You can’t charge an electric car in the rain is one of those myths like….
“You shouldn’t allow your fuel tank to run low because it’ll suck all the dirt from the bottom of the tank into your engine”
So how did you work that one out?
The fuel pickup to the engine ALWAYS comes from the bottom of the fuel tank. Even when the fuel tank is brim full, it’s still feeding the engine from the bottom of the tank. Otherwise the fuel pipe will only be sucking in air instead of fuel.
Besides, when you go around a corner the fuel sloshes about in the tank so any sediment will constantly be swirling around in the fuel anyway.
That cold water wasn’t having the desired effect…..!!

Charged my car up just outside Gatwick airport in the middle of a torrential downpour accompanied by three thunder storms circling the area. Pretty terrifying and awesome at the same time! Car charged absolutely fine. Was tempted to plug my own cable into the port and the point the other end of the cable towards the sky, but thought better of it…..

My mate down the pub says that you have to replace an EV’s every 3 years, that’s terrible. He also says that you have to replace the brake pads and disks every year. He knows, cause he’s seen an EV.
