EV charging explained with a fire engine πŸ˜‚

Granny battery charger – you're essentially filling it up with a pipette.
Home wallbox – it fills while you sleep.
Fast charging – now you're utilizing a hosepipe.
Ultra-rapid – time to bring in the huge weapons!.

– Real charge time might vary depending upon the lorry, age, type, condition and temperature level of the charger and battery, the level of charge in the battery, the power supply, ambient temperature level at the point of usage and other aspects. The accessibility of 175kW battery chargers is presently restricted to UK motorways and major arterial routes (not offered in NI and omits most of Wales/Scotland).

Childish without coming close to theory- most people charge based on costs hence a home charger is best surely for most people? Or are you on a drive to promote expense?

This one was just about speed. Perhaps there’s another one coming about cost.
Anyone who’s thinking about an EV needs to do a bit of research.
Charging at home is 1/10 the cost of a fast charger. Makes sense to do that if you can and get an EV tariff for the house if you drive a lot.

The description literally says this video is explaining charging speeds. CHARGING SPEEDS. Nothing more. LOL

I’ve looking to get a new EV and happened to watch a lot of your videos. I mean this with no flattery- You ought to think about having your own radio talk show. I’d tune in!

I just don’t understand how an 50kW fast charger is β€œ7 times as quick” as a 11kW home box. Tha part of the math and math-ing for me

Because they’re talking about 7kW home charger which is by far the norm in the UK.

      7×7 =49 ~ 50

It doesn’t always charge at the maximum 7kwh.

I wonder if you’d make another on charging speeds- actual versus advertised. I charged at a 250 kw DC Ultra rapid at 2 degrees outside temp after preconditioning for 25 min driving and got 85-90 kW speed!
