Prefer the exterior of the VW and interior usability of the Skoda

I see Skoda have invented some kind of rotary dials for climate control. I wonder why nobody has ever thought of that before 🙂

In case anyone doesn’t understand sarcasm I bought a Golf Mk7.5 after watching Doug DeMuros review of the Golf Mk8.

Would be handy if you could mention noise levels and refinement at high speeds

Passat without a diesel. VW missed a trick there.

And compared to a new skoda superb ?

They are virtually the same vehicle. It basically boils down to which one you prefer.

@@williamegler8771 The Superb has always been much more spacious inside than the Passat. I was more wondering if that no longer was the case with the 2 new generation Passat /Superb ?

That screen just plonked on the dash like a Transit van, non thanks, that’s worse for the driver experience than what came before.

This new Passat looks brilliant! It’s proof that SUVs are worthless! You don’t need an SUV and estates are much nicer to drive and travel in! It is a shame that there’s no diesel, but I can understand because of the moving away to electric and diesel cars are dying, so it’s no surprise, but it’s great that VW is still giving the Skoda a diesel. Speaking of which, I do think the Superb maybe a better choice as of price and perhaps sometimes even though Skoda is getting a little more premium nowadays, it’s sometimes ok for basics. It’s like with Renault, just buy the cheaper Dacia instead.

SUV have their place. Placing children in or taking them out of car seats is easier and less back breaking.

Those with mobility issue can get in and out far more easily in an SUV.

They used to do cars with slightly raised heights, but these were nit popular and were phased out. The only one available now is the Kia Exceed.

It’s got the same steering wheel as my 2022 204 t32 highline volkswagan transporter .possibly because it’s better than those touch sensitive buttons.

VW got a huge amount of criticism about the touch controls, and the climate controls which you couldn’t see in the dark.

Why no diesel ? The new Tiguan and Skoda Superb offer diesels but not the Passat ! My Passat AllTrack with 4motion is a great car – just back from two weeks in Europe and averaged 59mpg with five people and luggage – it’s just so good on motorways. VW have missed a trick by not offering diesels compared to what’s available in Europe

I don’t usually comment on videos but I felt like doing it here. There is something in the lens colour filter you use that makes your videos look really nice and high quality! Or maybe it’s just the time of day you film at which makes the lighting so great. Lovely review as usual – DR has such an easy charm in front of the camera. The test car’s body colour looks beautiful!

The Skoda has separate, physical climate control knobs. Driving a car is so much nicer when the controls are intuitive.
