5 out of the first 6 comments are scammers. How sad.

Nice to see the new platform with the battery and range options. Especially from Stellantis… where all current models appear to have just the one battery option. Range is what everyone has been asking for. As usual Stellantis are believing that their cars are worth more than they really are….

Thank you, thank you, thank you Doug, for NOT calling the front boot by that nauseating ‘frunk’ Americanism. We’ve had front boots in 911’s and Beetles since long before Musk was even born……… NO Tesla fanboys – he did NOT invent the concept of a front boot (even a Ferrari 308 from the 70’s had two boots front and rear!). 👍

It’s OK, at 2 years old, they’ll be half that price! 😀

It depends what the leasing cost is. Most who choose a new EV tend to lease it, not buy it. That way, you side-step the depreciation….

Don’t think many will buy one new. Perhaps reviews should include typical leasing costs in that case?

@@sargfowler9603 but will they still be in one piece after two years?

Maybe a case of style over substance? At these prices, private buyers will not be queuing up. Another informative and detailed review. Well done.

I wonder if the screens will keep freezing as they do on my 208. Before setting off I make sure the heating and radio are on reasonable settings because there’s a fair chance they’ll be stuck later on. That’s Peugeot quality for you. Maybe okay for a 17k car but let’s hope it doesn’t happen at 45-50k

Last year I rented a Seat Arona and on several occasions it’s infotainment system decided to shutdown and reboot. A known issue with the latest VW group systems apparently.

I’m guessing (-hoping-) there could be a longer and more vertical-backed 5008 version on the way?
Ride not very comfortable and not knowing what the front wheels are doing doesn’t sound very Peugeot…

For a cramped car like this one I wouldn’t want a 400 mile range.
Excellent review as always. Thank you.

You don’t have to drive it 400 miles before you stop to rest or whatever……

So they’re claiming 4.46 miles per kwh for the small battery and 4.44 miles per kwh for the long range. There mustn’t be much of a weight penalty for the bigger battery!
I’d love to see someone manage those numbers in the real world but until I do, I just won’t believe it.

Another shallow sloped rear screen without a wiper then, what have car designers got against seeing out of the back of the car?

Your videos are watched in EU as well who follow KMs and not Miles. Would be nice to have conversion on screen.

MKBHD who reviews in US with miles, provides conversions on screen.

Some feedback on the video, which otherwise was very good: 1) You need to mention the charging curve, not just the top speed. It makes a huge difference if it can hold 160kw for 30 seconds or 20 minutes. 2) Don’t forget to mention whether or not it has battery preconditioning for DC charging.

It’s about time the WLTP method of assessing range was reworked because the figures it provides are becoming meaningless. I am a huge fan of EVs and am on my second one but there is no way on earth that a square box weighing 2t+ with a 98kwh battery underneath it is going to get anywhere near 430 miles at 4.4 miles per kwh. Kia are one of the class leaders in efficiency but the smaller and very efficient Niro gets real world 4m/kwh. This huge blob ain’t beating that by 10% – just not happening. It is likely to be 300 miles in winter and no more than 340 in summer.

If Europe or the UK says it has a 400 mile range then the realistic range is probably 300- 325. No more than a Tesla Model 3.

Range is not so impressive when you factor in the huge battery, too many manufacturers are just lazily increasing the battery size rather than focusing on efficiency. I actually like Peugeot and French car design in general but no way would I buy that over at a premium over the Model Y.
