Great review, but I wouldn’t be tempted by a Nissan. I recently saw a video (Mr EV) where an owner was refused a warranty claim for a faulty traction battery because it was one day after the warranty expired.

I saw the same video and thought that it was a massive mistake by Nissan to not show some goodwill to that customer

      @joffffYeah, bad publicity for them..

Which companies wouldn’t refuse the warranty in that situation, for a non-youtuber that is?

That is so Japanese. They are very stricted on terms and conditions

@gunaodegaia9082. The worst part was that it wasn’t one day past the 8 year battery warranty. It was 1 day past the 5 year all parts warranty.

They don’t honour the 8 year battery warranty unless the battery fails in a very specific way. So even though the car could only do 50 miles with a 40kWh battery, they refused to do anything about it under the 8 year battery warranty.

Nisaan offered an alternative to the usual boring black, and it was divisive and canceled? They tried, at least.

    Heat pump?

Yes, it comes equipped with a heat pump as standard!

Nissan LEAF video was 9 months ago and I haven’t seen one on the road yet.

They are starting to roll off the production line at Sunderland. Slow progress as they are not operating at full capacity and lots of orders (including all over EU) to fulfill. Didn’t help that they changed Jatco drivetrain supplier after production was supposed to start either!

Very nice presentation. For the south and 🌞hot 🌞europeans…Any guesses what impact on the range will the Heat Pump have on range ?

Cheers! it’ll have a positive effect regardless, especially when it comes to HVAC. And it’s standard on the Ariya so we needn’t worry what it would be like without 🙂

Glad to see the biggest issues with Arya have been fixed! Had however hoped they somehow would find some more boot space. 460 l is just a bit small for a SUV of that size.

I tried the old ariya and was very underwhelmed. I was expecting a quiet ev, but both the entry and middle trims certainly did not deliver on that premise, despite reviews to the contrary. I wonder I you need to step up to the top trim.

Would be good to see more reviewing of ACC performance on all EVs nowadays. This is such an important feature of modern driving now, and it’s borderline dangerous on some cars (e.g. MG4 before updates..).

As a current Ariya owner, the biggest improvements I’m seeing are a much more functional infotainment system that should no longer send you to broken charging stations, battery pre-conditioning that actually works, and V2L. Too bad we aren’t getting this in the US.

I really love the Ariya, I don’t think it ever got the credit or success it deserved, I am saving for the Nismo model.

So still e-step junk instead of the one pedal driving e-pedal? So they did not fix the reason why I did not get the Ariya when I needed to upgrade from the LEAF.

I had a Gen 1 Ariya and I loved it. The quality inside and out was fantastic, much better than my current Ford Explorer. It wasn’t perfect but I miss it and always thought it was a great looking car.

Excellent review! Besides the relatively “slow” charging time (which still be enough for everyone) it is a much better car, yet the Chinese cars still offer much more bang for the same buck…
