    Vegas is slowly fading, becoming the new Atlantic city of the west coast. The greed of the big casinos is the blame. I wouldn’t take a dump there

    The last time I was in Vegas the valet said he had a sore back so he could not lift the bags into the car so I had to do it myself and then he showed the taxi driver that I only paid him $5… Coming from a country that does not tip it just made me never want to come back.

      They’re weird about tipping. I had a Vegas cab driver literally grab a couple dollars out of my hand when I was paying my fare and shoot me this look. I only use Uber now and never use a credit card in a regular cab because they skim your card number. It was happening all the time in Australia on business trips. Started paying them in cash and eventually learned how to drive myself on the other side of the road and rented cars

      Trump will blame Obama, Biden, Clinton, Abraham Lincoln, anyone but himself. The damage has been done, and will not improve for at least 10–15 years. Only Americans will go there now, and I’m not sure if Americans can afford to anyway. Better, nearer, cheaper places around the world to see and enjoy. The Football World Cup, in 2026, and the Olympics in 2028, will be total disasters in terms of attendance figures. My holiday plans will be Asia, Caribbean, Europe, South America, anywhere but America.

    All the free shows, entertainment, rides, give-aways, affordable things are gone. Anyone can go to any city anywhere to stay in any hotel that has a mall, casino and restaurants.

      I know someone who lives and works in Vegas. A friend of mine and I would drive to her house, and we would stay at her home. She just told us that they laid off many people where she works on the strip. Now they have a skeleton crew. SO, SAD!!!

    I was driving from Southern California to Chicago and decided to spend the weekend in Vegas. I gave up on that idea as soon as I tried getting a room at a “hole in the wall hotel”. They wanted over $200 for each night (Friday and Saturday). I decided to explore the strip and downtown during the day and night on Friday. Then I drove North to Mesquite and got a room for $33 each night. I had a great time but I will never go back to Vegas. It’s just way too expensive.

    It doesn’t matter who lives there. I live in Los Angeles, which includes Beverly hills, Hollywood, Brentwood and the houses are way more expensive and there are many more celebrities. People don’t want to go on vacation and get bent over and f***** spending money on resort fees, parking especially parking in your own hotel, ridiculous resort fees, ETC, do I need to say more?

      I totally agree with this. Tacky is fine but there is a middle ground. The Mirage was very nice. Too nostalgic? Go to the Bellagio. Need something cheaper? Hit the Strat. But Aria (for example) feels like I could be in any city except for the slots in the lobby. And they say $26 medium bottle of water in the minibar. Not even the big FiJi

    Everything in Vegas is extremely overpriced. The corporations rob you with fees at every chance they get. They don’t listen to anything that their customers want and they’re surprised that tourism is down in Las Vegas. I was just in Miami and let me tell you it was booming.

    Too many fees

      Don’t forget the recent tax changes passed. You might lose tens of thousands of dollars in a year and wind up having to pay taxes on tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of hand pays. Not fair, especially when gamblers played this year up to the point of the law change expecting the old rules. Now you can have tens to thousands or even hundreds of thousands in losses for a year, and because you can now only write off 90 percent of your losses, might have to pay taxes on tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands in hand pays, even with a huge net loss for the year. This is going to destroy any casino company with properties in the US.

    There is nothing worse than finishing a vacation and feeling ripped off, deceived, and taken advantage of. Vegas became very expensive, and there are hidden fees everywhere. The scorching heat and the harsh weather don’t make it any better. Vegas used to be fun, but it has become a money-exhausting pit for big corporations. Do you want us back? Lower prices, remove resort fees, and all other additional costs to make it affordable again.

    Las Vegas Strip needs to do: 1. get rid of the fees[resort and parking] and the CFT sale tax; 2. Remove the costume wearing, con-artists charging $50 and up to take a picture; 3. turn one of those empty business on the north end of the strip into a place for homeless, so they won’t lay down on the strip’s sidewalks; 4. get rid of the timesharing reps; 5. Get rid of people selling stuff on the strip; 6. bring back bargain food like the shrimp cocktail and eggs and streak breakfast.
