A Wagoneer Worth Waiting For? | 2024 Jeep Wagoneer S

Jeep is understood for a variety of things however electrical automobiles have not been one of them,; previously. Though it took it's time bringing a BEV to North America it appears that Jeep wasn't sitting on it's hands or phoning it in with the Wagoneer S (even if the name does not appear quite best). Though it presently is available in a single trim this Jeep is rated at 303 miles of EPA range, 600hp, 0-60 in 3.4 seconds, has AWD, and with the tires as equipped returns some pretty impressive fuel effectiveness numbers. All of that and an interior and exterior that would be what you anticipate from a higher tier Jeep item.

    Awesome another EV that will lose 50% of the msrp within two months. Go ask for ford lightning owners how there making out lol most owe 90k and their work maybe 40k if that. Stop the insanity unless theee golf carts are $15,000. Msrp you’re throwing all your money in the trash.

    This should have been a Chrysler or a Dodge. I assume it’s a 2024 Jeep in 2025 to help with their 2024 fuel economy ratings averages but that seems like cheating.

    Jeep, put the charge port in the correct position, but did not go with the NACS connector. Who wants to buy a new 2025 ev with an OUTDATED CCS1 connector. It would have been perfect since they don’t have many evs out in North America to go with NACS at the beginning.

      @davidws5439

      @gregpochet4812  Not true. The supercharger network has been great to get around for many years and only getting better. Also, most of the new networks installed have about 40% NACS connectors and 60% of the old outdated CCS1 connector that is very heavy and hard to use. The worst thing is buying CCS1 EVSE’S and any V to L or V to G equipment. Not many will buy a brand new 2025 vehicle with an outdated connector. The change to NACS for North America was done over 18 months ago and manufacturers had time to change just like Hyundai group is doing.

    5. @hlothr Avatar
      @hlothr

      It’s not outdated. Jeep has access to thousands of public ccs stations and does not have Tesla access. You would be using an adapter all the time if it had nacs.

    Alex, NO ONE needs a passenger screen. It’s a feature that nobody asked for that these manufacturers have added because us consumers are stupid enough to pay the outrageous prices that these cars cost because of these tacky features. If I wanted crazy features, I’d buy a Rolls-Royce or Maybach.

    This should have been a chrysler. It would have solved two problems the company has, chrysler has no suv crossover, and chrysler only has one model. All they needed to do was call this an aspen and use it as a sign of “chryslers premium future” and try and sell the brand as a premium/entry luxury brand like it tried to be in the 80s. They’d have the unique position of having absolutely no company framework or vision to work with as their only model is a minivan. A free clean sheet design opportunity.

    But instead they brand this a wagoneer and throw away the model. This wont sell well and it will just tarnish the jeep name further. Lets just hope now that tavares is gone, they can start making good decisions with the chrysler brands

      Chrysler did have a version of this, the Airflow, that was canceled. IMO Chrysler should buy out Canoos IP and make a range of ev minivans, returning back to their minivan roots.

    Nobody ever wants to give Chrysler any credit. Assuming it’s relatively reliable, this thing is a hit. It’s as expensive or less expensive than the most gussied up gas Cherokees. It’s as fast or faster than the much more expensive Lyriq V, and appears to be comparably comfortable and luxo. It’s faster than a Trackhawk and more equipped but cheaper. At 74k, it compares VERY favorably with it’s competition, although I’m not exactly sure what that competition is other than price. You can actually spec a Gladiator or Wrangler up to close to that price, and I think it’s safe to say you are getting more for money here than in a Gladiator. To be honest, the only thing holding me back from buying this is the upcoming Recon, the RamCharger, and the fact that I can get a used Lyriq or Lightning in the low 30s.
