A New Spin On EV Transportation | ALSO TM-B/TM-Q

ALSO has actually released their very first product with the TM-B and teased a future line called the TM-Q. This is the work of the start-up within the start-up (Rivian) that's concentrated on electric transportation throughout the board. The class 3 TM-B has some outstanding numbers and a big party trick; 100 miles of riding range, 28mph ability, modular componenets, and a lot of all a series hybrid system. This implies when you pedal this bike you will not actually be moving it forward, simply developing energy and telling the software how quick you want to go. This system is initially of it's kind and works remarkably smoothly AND has the capability to use regenerative braking which you won't discover on a standard e-bike. Rates start at $4,500 and you can reserve yours now at www.RideAlso.com for $50.

    It’s an electric motorcycle designed for city use without a license or permit. Don’t be afraid to call it what it is. Those pedals are just to get around regulation

      You can only use the throttle up to 20mph, if you want to reach the 28mpg you’ll have to be pedaling. I think that puts a decent limit on how “electric motorcycle” it could reasonably be used as. -Travis

      @EVBuyersGuidehave you ever biked around a city? 20mph on a “bycicle” is plenty fast. Also I’m sure within a week there will be a an aftermarket flash to get the full 28mph on throttle alone, 20mph is a legal limit for non registered motor vehicles. Don’t be surprised if you see these with the pedals replaced with pegs

      @james2042 that doesnt change the fact that it’s being sold as what it is. Modifications and the aftermarket will always find a way to turn things into something other/more than what they were originally.

      @ALMX5DPeven stock, it’s still a motorcycle first

    Roller-chain drives with gear derailleurs are essentially 98% efficient. Surely eliminating the direct-drive component is a net negative.

      I don’t think the argument is being made that this is more efficient but it does unlock a whole new type of e-bike experience. -Travis

      That depends on the generator and motor – electric versions can also be 98%+ efficient.

    That area looks like you’re in Oakland. You must be near the bay bridge / MacArthur maze

    You are not old enough. If you had seen all the cumbersome golf carts in retirement communities you would not be skeptical of the TMQ.

    Major major problem with any e bike is that they’re ridden on the road with cars. No insurance kids with no license. Here in vegas over 91 deaths this year. No e bike should be allowed any where near the roads let alone riding in them with cars. Major problem here.

    Travis, To borrow a well worn phrase – start the revolution without me. 😉
