2025 Hyundai Casper Electric | Just Out Of Reach

If you're looking for a brand-new cars and truck on a tight budget plan, you have fewer choices than ever and sadly this brand-new Hyundai Casper (aka the Hyundai Inster) isn't among them. For America at least. That's a shame, due to the fact that this is no "compliance automobile" which's what makes it unique. Yes it's based on a gasoline Casper, yes the variety is well, well below the 300 miles Americans claim they yearn for, but on the other hand, it starts under $21,000 in Korea. Could it ever be that low-cost in the USA? Most likely not, but because the battery is made in Korea along with the remainder of the Inster, it is possible it might prevent a few of the tariffs that are being used to batteries and vehicles from China …

It’s not actually the same video, I filmed this one first, then filmed the one for the other channel, then came *back to this one LOL and figuired, well, it’s still a solid video so whyt not put this one on EVBG,

I hope they make a version of this to the US in the US, of course the name will change along with the interior but it would be nice though.

@@EVBuyersGuide Any thoughts about the Kia PV5 in general? And if it’s going to make it to the US or not? And the degree that the chicken tax, is an impediment?

(Such as if it’s modular nature can overcome the tax by importing passenger van versions. Or the “chassis cab”, And subsequently building the rest of the assembly in the US. Kia already stated they’re planning on doing something like this for certain markets… Odd that this is still an issue for Korean products, since they have the The United States-Korea Free Trade Agreement (KORUS FTA). Apparently free trade agreements with the US don’t mean much?.( Feel free to just put your response in a future EVBG post, i believe others would be interested in your feedback on this vehicle Since it has better odds to make it to our Shores than Casper, Which doesn’t have a ghost of a chance))

Lastly thanks for the clarification about the post, but i checked before my OC… And each individual chapter title is identical, with Identical start times. The only difference I found was that the EVBG version is 24 seconds shorter…. My pedantic nature has me curious about finding the few seconds of difference between the two. But I think I’ll pass…. i better end it here now. before I start having that sense of deja vu and a little vertigo again. Keep up the good work.

God, I hate being teased with small affordable foreign EVs that never come to the US. American automakers and importers: ‘Americans love overpaying for big cars, that’s our lie and we’re sticking to it.’

Stop complaining, since you have a small EV, as a choice. Got to love the inept overpriced Fiat 500e. Especially when Stellantis offers a plethora of affordable EVs in Europe.

And to be fair Automotive companies have lost money on small inexpensive ICE vehicles for decades, that hardly anybody bought. So it’s understandable if they’re gunshy to bring over small inexpensive EVs now. But it’s still fun to complain about it. Enjoy….

@@nc3826 Foreign automakers can’t bring them over and maintain the same level of affordability due to the “Chicken Tax” and being locked out of the $7,500 federal incentive. It’d be nice to see someone like Kia/Hyundai have a go at a small EV made in North America. If someone could sell a capable small EV around $18k after incentives, it’d be a huge hit. Make them in Mexico. Sell them in Mexico for a couple of years to iron out all the issues (since warranty recalls and repairs would be more affordable there). Then, start selling them in the U.S. and Canada.

This would be perfect as our runabout regional car. We live 30 miles from small cities in two directions and are making 50-80 mile round trips all the time as well as local 5 miles to the beach and back. Hyundai: take my money!
