    The Cadillacs technology and design are just too good to overlook when comparing it with the blazer. Cadillacs EVs are such good packages if i ever considered owning an EV it’d be one from them.

      And they’ve gone so far in on EV’s they’ve basically got an option for every main segment. -Travis

      I just picked up my new Optiq yesterday and it’s wonderful. Cadillac is on a run with their EVs.

      As someone with a Google Pixel I’m fine without Android Auto because the built in system has all the apps (Waze, YouTube, Prime Music and Video) that i care about.

    Thank you for doing this comparison. I like GM’s current approach to shared platforms where the different vehicles using the platform have some actual differences. A refreshing change from their approach from the ’80s and ’90s. In terms of CarPlay. You’d think that GM could offer it as part of an extra cost option package if they can no longer be troubled to offer it as standard.

      The whole point is too connect data (I’ll let you decide if that’s nefarious or not) so offering it at all counters that effort. -Travis

    Thank you for mentioning headlight performance! Night time driving and headlight output is important to me, so thank you for bringing it up!

      You still don’t have adaptive lights enabled by DOT there?

      @ there are a few new cars with the adaptive high beam active. But it’s only like, 2 or 3 right now over here.

      As I am getting older, and I live in an area w no street lights with windy roads, effective headlights are a must. My dad‘s Lyriq has one of the worst headlights. I cannot see anything, even with proper aiming. I have activated the pixel headlights on my polestar, and now I exclusively drive the polestar at night. Such a big difference!!!

    Curious why you picked the Blazer over the Honda Prologue

    If you buckle the passenger seatbelt, you can tap on the bell icon on the dash and it will let you disable the dash lockout. That is the way it works in my Prologue, I assume it is the same in the other Ultium vehicles?

    Pls do the Optiq vs. Equinox EV next

      Agree!! I see a lot of the Equinox EV on the road everyday. I’m sure once the Optiq is in dealerships in full force (they’re just now really being delivered), there will be a ton of those on the road too. It would definitely be the EV I would want.

      As for the two in this video, I definitely see way more Lyriqs versus the Blazer EV. I see more Prologues too versus the Blazer.

    GM should scrap the power port.
    EV equinox doesn’t have it.

    On the Sierra EV if there is a passenger the bell icon has the red dot, click on it to unlock for the passenger. Don’t both the Blaver EV and Lyriq allow that option?

    General Motors uses seating by Lear Corporation. IMO Lear makes the most uncomfortable of all American brands.

      Hmm. The Leer seats in the 25 Silverado EV is much better than the ICE 25 Silverado
      LEER seems to have gotten it right for the EV seats

    Thinking of giving up my 2016 Cadillac ELR performance for the Lyriq. Checked out the Lyriq and the Optiq today, they are both beautiful. I think the Optiq is a steal for what you get but I’m drawn to the Lyriq, the seats are unbelievably comfortable and it just looks so good! Lastly, not a fan of giant panoramic roofs, granted it has the shade, but in California it just gets too hot for them.

    I don’t think there is that one payment deal you had about $6,600 any more though in California anywhere. What is the current best deal for EV Blazer or Equinox ?

    Not supporting CarPlay is definitely a deal breaker after seeing how slow the native apps are on the blazer.

      It really depends on the cell service in the area. I’ve experienced the sluggish performance but I’d say 8/10 mine runs smooth. Well, I do have a Lyriq but tomato-tomatoe

    I went with the Blazer RS RWD. I just couldn’t tolerate the rear 3/4 panel, as it’s just too busy for me. And that comes from someone that likes hatches and wagons. My Blazer has been great for 10,000 miles so far, but it could use an extra 50 – 100 hp.

  18. @anydaynow01 Avatar
    @anydaynow01

    I like the Lyriq, especially considering the price overlap like you said, by the time I optioned up a Blazer to where I would like, for that price point I would rather have the nicer interior of the Cadillac.

    I think I’m getting old because I want to wait for the Buick. I would rather have the upscale interior of the Cadillac with the civil exterior of the Chevy except with a cleaner design and no black cladding, which is what I hope the Buick brings to the table, and not the other way around.

    1. @chocolateboy3000 Avatar
      @chocolateboy3000

      Maybe in the Chinese market? I don’t think we’ll ever see a Buick EV frankly. I hope I’m proven wrong!

    2. @jeffs6090 Avatar
      @jeffs6090

      I would rather like to see Buick leave our US market altogether. I just don’t see the need for the extra rebadging. If they provided better powertrains versus the Chevy counterparts, then maybe.

    You can bypass the lockout feature 20:12 in the Lyriq. If there is someone in the passenger seat a notification will be available in the notification area (the bell with a red dot). If you press that it allows full access as long as someone is in the front passenger seat.
