Invite to the carwow evaluation of the brand-new Bentley Bentayga Speed!

We're putting this all-new, luxurious SUV to the test to see if it can still hold its own versus the flashiest rivals on the planet, such as the Lamborghini Urus, Ferrari Purosangue, or the ultra-opulent Rolls-Royce Cullinan.

While the Urus is a track-focused weapon and the Cullinan is an actual palace on wheels, the Bentayga Speed tries to occupy the sweet spot in the middle. However does it offer enough for you to choose it over its rivals? Let's take a closer look …

In the beginning glimpse, you might think not much has changed since it shares the very same iconic body, grille, and bonnet as the previous model. Nevertheless, the Speed trademarks appear upon closer inspection. To separate it from the standard V8, Bentley has actually switched out the standard chrome for a smooth, blacked-out trim throughout the exterior. This model also marks the first time you can spec huge 23" alloy wheels that fill the arches completely. Our test vehicle even includes the optional carbon fibre side skirts, a chunky roofing spoiler, and a vocal Akrapovič exhaust system!

Bentley continues to set the bar for cabin quality, and each and every single aspect you touch feels pricey – we could not even find any wonky stitching! The cabin is a masterclass in textures, mixing high-end Leather and Alcantara with spectacular wood trim. While the digital dials look terrific and modern, Bentley has actually carefully kept physical dials for the environment control, making it far easier to use on the move than its touch-screen-only rivals. The infotainment system is likewise user-friendly adequate to guarantee the tech never obstructs of the high-end.

The greatest news for the brand-new Bentayga Speed is under the bonnet, where the famous 6-litre W12 has actually been changed by a scaled down 4-litre V8. Surprisingly, Bentley has actually avoided adding any hybrid power here, keeping it as a pure internal combustion engine producing 650hp and 850Nm of torque. Despite the fact that it has lost four cylinders, it has actually not lost its punch. It is now lighter over the front end, making it feel more nimble than ever, while the Akrapovič exhaust guarantees it sounds just as mean as the old twelve-cylinder.

All of this luxury includes a high price tag. While the basic Bentayga begins at ₤ 172,600, the Speed design included in this video can be found in at a cool ₤ 290,295 thanks to an incredible ₤ 70,000 worth of choices! However is it the wise option over its close competitors? Remain and see on your own!

      The tail lights are definitely the worst part of the vehicle. They look out of place.

    R.I.P W12 it was the best (still hoping for a W12 drag race with all cars in the Volkswagen group that had it).

      @DamarFadlan25

      W12 like Mercedes W12 F1 car?😅

      @Park-JayNg

      @DamarFadlan25no, the engine. 12 cylinder engine with a W shape instead of V. Like v12 but w, yk

    3. @tomoko960 Avatar
      @tomoko960

      @Park-JayNg basically a cheap V12 as it’s made by mating two V6s.

    4. @Ktmzqw Avatar
      @Ktmzqw

      @Park-JayNg Looking at VW “W” engines from the outside, they look like a “V”. An actual “W” shaped engine would just be two separate V6 side by side, but W is the letter closer to the two banks of VR6 joined by one crankshaft in a “V”. But that’s nitpicking, 12 cylinders is 12 cylinders

      We need to redirect this to the new rs5.. the m5 atleast has a v8 and is blistering fast. The rs5 is slow af weighs the same and has a v6..

      I don’t have any kids – so no one’s going to sit in the back.
