Just another thing to go wrong that will be costly to repair
-
Exactly, designed to last a week longer than the warranty and then forced to fix it for £1400 or bin it because you can’t charge it anymore
-
No. I hate my current EV without a motorized flap. It’s just inconvenient. I’ve gotten in my new car at least ten times already, just to look in the mirror and sigh.
Never had a problem with my previous model 3.

@@danzac6888Built in obsolescence. When today’s complicated cars start to go wrong they’ll cost a fortune to repair so that once they are 8-10 years old they will be scrapped

@@adrianbennett3761yes an accounting practice overused these days unfortunately. My phones go nuts after a handful of years and these cars must have dozens of similar devices waiting to tank themselves

@@Jeroennemanyes it’s very tricky to pull the charging cable out and close the cap with the other hand. They should give lessons in school on how to do it.

Okay but the genesis one is actually cool
-
Yeah but it has absolutely no purpose. It just adds more weight and is more annoying to deal with.

Because manafacturers want to be in a state where theyre considered as top luxury makers😂

I totally agree. Who needs an electric one when you can have a manual one that’s is 10 times wuicker
-
The electric one is quirky, but as someone who wants an EV next, it’s unnecessary.

@@HongKong-tg5lhI hate the smell of fuel and find them too loud. Better products are coming.

Some of them are so slow and its just another thing is gonna break

They overdoing simple things for no real benefit. Just more things that can go wrong and costly to fix.

I really admire your approach; keep doing what you do.

I truly dig your hard work, your drive is clear.

Genesis and BMW’s own were 👌🏾

Hits ID5 flap like the Fonz*
Ayyyyyy

I guess it is to prepare for chaufeurless driving.
-
*Maybe they just wanted to charge up their personality! 😂*

The genesis flap is the most invisable charging flap I think I have seen.
I like the charger flap on the nose (as our 2024 hyundai kona has it) -
So the Polestar and the BMW were both manual? But only the BMW got the thumbs up 👍🏽
-
Always wondered why so simple doors and mechanisms have to be ridiculously automated in sci Fi movies. Even things that are more convenient manually, like this.
-
The one on my old car was so old you needed a key to remove the cap. Meanwhile the Honda you need to release it from the footwell
-
Make it like trunks that can have an electric option or manual. That way when I forget to close it, I can just press button instead of getting put of car.

A solution for a non existing problem. The same with cameras as side mirrors.

As always, BMW has the best/simplest solutions 🙂
