Hennessey has released a brand new Koenigsegg rival – the Blackbird!

The Blackbird follows on from Hennessey's very first two hypercars, the Venom GT & Venom F5, and it's been influenced by the legendary SR-71 Blackbird aircraft.
The concern is, what makes it a real Koenigsegg competitor? Let's take a closer look … Starting with the engine!
While the Venom GT & F5 were both powered by the exact same twin-turbo V8, Hennessey rather decided to fit the Blackbird with an all-new, 6.2-litre naturally-aspirated V8. This produces between 800 and 850hp, with all of this power sent to the rear wheels just via a 6-speed handbook!
What's more, it revs to 9000RPM (the highest-revving naturally-aspirated V8 on any roadway vehicle), can hit 60mph in 2.5 seconds (about the like the CC850), and it has a leading speed of 220mph!
When it pertains to the design, the Blackbird is mostly just made from carbon fiber, which means it only weighs in at 1,360 kg. The toned doors mirror the shape of the SR-71, as does the sky glass roofing, together with the rear stabilisers, which automatically release once you hit 71 mph. Speaking of the rear end, the Blackbird likewise includes diamond-shaped, quad tailpipes, and the diamond shape is mirrored in the headlights as well. All-in, this long and low hypercar looks definitely extraordinary!
Step inside, and it feels like you've stepped back in time – there are no screens anywhere! The Blackbird includes analogue dials and a built-in install for your phone. It also has an old-fashioned key, along with twin carbon fiber seats, and 4(!) cupholders. The swooping-style style reminds us of the Bugatti Tourbillon, and the overhead switches as soon as again return the SR-71.
But of course, it doesn't come inexpensive – the Blackbird expenses from $2,500,000, and it'll be restricted to just 71 units. The concern is, would you pick it over a Koenigsegg CC850? Let us know in the comments!
