Shocking New Toyota – I didn’t see this coming!

Head to 16:13 to see Mat in the mid-engined car, and then later on drive the first Celica prototype!

Mat's coordinated with Toyota in Japan to get hands-on with the M Concept, participate in a 24-hour endurance race with the Gazoo Racing team, and even have a special take a look at the brand new Corolla GRMN!

Check out brand-new and used car handle Carwow:

Toyota insiders have actually dropped massive tips that the mid-engine M Principle model will likely generate the next-generation Celica! It includes a brand-new, mid-mounted 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo with over 400hp, and unlike the previous generation of Celica, it'll come with four-wheel drive! The concept has been developed under Gazoo Racing's ultimate approach of "test, break, repair, repeat," and Toyota is presently freely racing this incomplete model to push its limits.

With that in mind, Mat's joined the team on the grid at Fuji Speedway to witness the Gazoo Racing group testing the principle in a gruelling 24-hour endurance race. Along With the M Idea, GR is racing a basic 1.6-litre GR Yaris to check biofuel, model braking systems, and advanced swan-neck aero plans!

While at the track, Mat likewise overtakes Toyota's famous chairman, Akio Toyoda. In a totally unscripted conversation, Akio explains why he picks enjoyable over corporate bureaucracy, his love for the smell and noise of genuine engines, and exposes that the cult-classic GR Yaris may have actually turned over a little earnings!

Mat likewise had a possibility to get hands-on with the newly unveiled Toyota Corolla GRMN, and there's definitely loads to like about it! Torque depends on 450Nm, the rear seats have actually been removed (shedding 30kg), and racing bucket seats have been added up front! It likewise has a carbon fiber bonnet and spoiler. Sadly, however, it's not pertaining to the UK!.

Finally, Mat signs up with Toyota at the Shimoyama test facility to evaluate drive the numerous concepts and models. From a frightening guest lap in the 400hp M Concept to sliding a 1.6-litre mid-engine principle on a loose gravel rally stage, this video isn't one you want to miss!

The concern is, who wishes to see Toyota reanimate the Celica? Let us know in the remarks!

I mean, after the supras, the celicas, the ae86, the mr2s and many other cool sports cars their reputation as purely makers of grocery getters was undeserved. I have to agree tho that now they re absolutely the best car brand form an enthusiasts perspective and its not even close.

Subaru is doing good things, too.. although you could say they’re almost the same company. VB WRX gets the previous STI’s bulletproof 6 speed transmission, BRZ is getting a Type RA variant and the new hatchback coming out. We don’t know if it will be an STI or not yet but presumably so.

chairman of the board so from a day to day perspective he’s not involved. But he still holds considerable power and influence and don’t be mistaken he still makes decisions daily and they still obey him. He is literally family. He correctly did not go all in on EV, which was criticized at the time but is now being hailed for as other companies namely Honda have been impacted on their EV strategies which have been rolled back. And get your facts straight Koji Sato is not an accountant but an engineer that was yes head of Lexus and he was very successful at it. But he was replaced by the CFO Kenta Kon who is now the CEO. Bc of the Trump tariffs which was not Sato’s fault. All of this info can be found by Googling it. Get your facts straight before you go trashing something you are not correct on
