Meet the updated 911!

has unveiled an upgraded variation of its class-leading , however this is no regular facelift. For the very first time ever, the 911 has actually gone hybrid!

So apart from the modifications under the skin, let's see what else has actually been updated. Thankfully, not too much! Around the front, you'll discover a brand-new set of LED matrix headlights, as well as an updated front bumper. Within it, you'll discover 5 vertical fins on each side, and these can open and close depending on whether the radiator requires cooling. There are brand-new alloy wheel creates to choose from, and around the rear, you'll find a tweaked light bar, as well as new vents behind the windshield and a new rear bumper.

Step within and there's one noteworthy change – the analogue rev counter has gone, with a totally digital chauffeur screen fitted rather. It looks quite wise and features lots of different options, however it's simply not the same as a traditional rev counter! Otherwise, the interior is every bit as clever as you 'd expect from a 911, with soft-touch materials throughout and a large infotainment screen on the dash.

When it comes to performance, only the brand-new GTS comes as a hybrid. It's now powered by a 3.6-litre flat-six with a single turbo, and this integrates with the electrical motor to produce 541hp and 610Nm of torque – that's 61hp more than the previous GTS! Porsche claims it will be able to strike 60mph in just 3 seconds, and it also comes with a top speed of 194mph.

The new 911 variety starts from ₤ 99,800. But if you're looking to get your hands on the GTS, it will set you back a minimum of ₤ 132,600! The concern is, if you could, would you pay it? Or would you get a pre-owned totally petrol-powered 911 rather? Let us know in the remarks!

I’m not sure if it has changed but if you check out some Porsche forums, many 992 owners have reported some difficulties. Generally, the 911 is a reliable car so long as you take care of it. The performance is amazing but as they get more advanced, it definitely has created some new issues that were not there with previous gens. I had to replace the battery on mine.
