New Jaguar Type 01: My HONEST take…

The Jaguar Type 01 has been unveiled!

It's been practically 2 years given that Jaguar revealed the Type 00 principle cars and truck to the general public, and it's fair to state the production car looks remarkably comparable to the principle!

Jaguar was going for a complete reset with the Type 00 idea. The question is, does the production car help it attain its goal? Let's take a better look …

The similarities to the Type 00 Concept are clear. For starters, it's absolutely colossal! It has a big bonnet, and the vehicle measures 5.2 metres long. Along the front you'll find thin headlights and DRLs, as well as a bumper that features active aero to help the Type 01 cool when required. The 'grille' includes the very same lines as seen on the principle, in addition to Jaguar's all-new logo design. From the side, you'll find 23-inch alloys that come as basic, four doors (unlike the 2 seen on the concept), and pop-out door handles. Around the back, the slat design continues throughout the whole rear end, with 2 full-length light bars built into them. There's also a pop-up spoiler when the automobile hits high speed, and perhaps most especially, there's no back window!

On the within, the interior of the Type 01 is exceptionally minimalistic. There's a big main spinal column that ranges from the front to the rear (so it's strictly a four-door), and there's a small infotainment screen to handle the environment controls. There's a big digital dial screen that's touch-sensitive, and the steering wheel is modern and includes buttons to manage the dial screen. There's a sound bar that runs along the length of the windshield, with speakers built into the seat headrests.

A car of this size requires a great deal of power, so it's no surprise it comes equipped with 3 electric motors – one at the front and two at the rear. The three integrate to produce 1,030 hp and 1,365 Nm, with a claimed 0-60 time of 4 seconds. That might appear slow for an automobile with so much power, but then again, it does weigh around 2.7 tonnes!

We don't have a main price yet, however don't be shocked to discover it any cheaper than ₤ 120,000! So do you believe it deserves it? Let us understand in the comments!

      @OldCGullybloke

      Agree. Every new car has to look ‘space age’ and have square steering wheels (I’m waiting for square driving wheels to be tried). The irony is that the ‘space age’ designs of the 1960s Captain Scarlet/Thunderbirds and later UFO/Space 1999 looked better than this rubbish.
