New Dacia Duster Review: The KING of Small SUVs?

Change your car with :

This is the brand !

It is among the most inexpensive SUVs cash can purchase, with the rate beginning with just ₤ 18,000! The concern is, even with such a low price tag, does it offer enough to take on little SUV rivals like the Peugeot 2008?

Well, when it comes to the style, the has been heavily upgraded compared to the previous edition – and it looks great! At the front, it looks a lot more modern-day than the previous automobile, helping it look preferred compared to some crucial competitors. Along the side there's cladding around the wheel arches to provide it a rugged appearance, and the roofing bars and blacked-out windows only assist enhance the appearances even more. In conclusion, it's reasonable to state that the looks far better than you would anticipate an ₤ 18,000 cars and truck to look!

Step inside and the interior is quite well set out. The infotainment screen display might not be the very best, however it offers all the functionality you need, consisting of the capability to use Apple CarPlay & Android Car. There are physical buttons for the climate control, and everything is quite well set out throughout the cabin. Regrettably, however, the presence to the exterior isn't as excellent as the previous edition, although it's still more than liveable.

One key distinction when it comes to the engines is the removal of the diesel choice. As an outcome, there are now 2 petrol choices – a 1.2-litre turbo that produces 130hp, and a 1.6-litre self-charging hybrid that can produce 140hp.

So is the Duster still the very best budget SUV around? Or should you look somewhere else instead? Stick to Mat to see for yourself!

      VW are shocking now. Every time I’ve bought a new car I’ve wanted to get a VW but they’ve always been more expensive and less reliable than their rivals and you have to pay over the odds for stuff that’s standard on other cars. I remember looking at Polos that had a £300 keyless entry option, this was in 2019.

      @j2dreamerforternity , not really. The rear brake calipers have incorporated the park-braking system, which only works electrically. Other cars would have both disks for service braking and drums for park brakes. Dacia wouldn’t do that because of cost reasons, obviously.

    As an American, I always wish these brands and cars could be sold in the U.S. I’ve seen Dusters whenever I go to Mexico or Europe and they’re so cool. Everyone in America craves that cheap, capable SUV and this fits that right on point, and would fly off lots probably. This one looks like a nice improvement over the last one.

      @ Only thing is I heard they moved it over from body-on-frame construction to unibody which stinks a little. Everyone in NA craves that cheap barebones off roader and the last generation Duster being body-on-frame and priced like a Trax would’ve fit that on the money. Still, it should be plenty capable while being affordable and spacious. This car would sell like hot cakes in the U.S. if Renault came here.

    3. @Luka9S9 Avatar
      @Luka9S9

      @@KNRS927 The Duster was never a Body on Frame SUV, it’s aways been a Unibody Crossover based on the Sandero, this new one remains the same, being based on the Third Gen Sandero and using the same base as the Hatchback, being the CMF-B LS, a low cost version of the platform used in the Renault Clio, Captur, Nissan Juke & a lot of other subcompact models from Renault-Nissan.
