      well it’s just a matter of what you call a HOT hatch. but really its the 3 door thing that makes it hard since vw does almost everything 5 doors now and hyundai too. the extra doors don’t add any price practically so might just as well.

    The JCW actually does have 2 exhaust pipes. But only one of them is visible. The second one is hidden under the car. No idea why they went that, as the twin exhaust pipes became iconic over the years.

      With Mini focusing on electric cars, my theory is they thought one tail pipe looked “greener”. The dual tip exhaust has been an S staple since Gen 1. Although that one tip on the new one may be as large as the two on my R53.

      ​@ShadowBend possibly yes. Infact on the new cooper S, it now has no visible exhaust tips too, while the previously F56, R56 and R53 S all had two tips. And thats also one of their sporty models.
      While we have some manufacturers adding fake tips to make the car seem like theres more exhaust tips, mini is removing them. Strange times

    Regardless of how good it is or isn’t not having physicsl controls and having to use that stupid round screen to operate everything is a big no.
    All done for cost cutting. Bring back physical switches and knobs. No one wants a touch screen to operate everything.

      In NL you can lease a used C 63 AMG for that much money. So you can get a nice car with a twin turbo V8 or a mini cooper. I know what I’d choose.

    I hear people complain about power figures in new cars. One of the reasons why modern turbo engines produce less power than old ones is due to emission regulations, they have to make loads of down low torque. Smaller turbos can give you that but fades off at the top end.

    My old 2008 Mazda 3 MPS has 260hp but it’s slow as a brick below 4000 rpm, while this mini seems to pick up right from the get go.

      @@_Atomic_impact not really no, the hud shows the speed, speed limit of the road, cruise control/limiter info, directional arrows if you use the built in nav and most importantly, you can scroll through your songs on the display if you’re using carplay/android auto… if you want more cluttered info on that little panel, put your phone there 😂🤦🏽‍♂️

    Matt, I get that you have to do things to get more views, like changing the thumbnail and stuff, but can we please not change the titles of the videos? This is getting to be very deceiving and it’s not very nice to your audience. We are here, we love your content, and you have over 10 million subscribers – there is no need for these things.

      He doesn’t run the channel or choose the titles. And the team behind carwow doesn’t either, not manually anyway. Youtube gives you the option to A/B test 3 diffrent titles and thumbnails hence why it keeps changing for you, after the test is done, one title and thumbnail is chosen and it doesn’t change

      Why is that deceiving? Youtube even has built-in tools for A/B testing different titles to see how they perform. If this is your dayjob you want your work to reach as large an audience as possible, if a title doesn’t resonate, changing it seems fair to me.

    Big mini fan and even owned a Gen1 JCW (wish I didn’t sell it). Something not talked about much is how this is just a heavy facelift of the Gen3 mini. Only the electric ones are a new car, hence the door handles.
    All the petrol minis have the same 2L engine just with different power outputs.
    Now the letterbox inlet has gone the only way to tell a JCW from a Cooper Sport is the red trim on the front bumper, red brakes (the cooper sports now have black JCW ones) and the rear center exhaust

      It os crazy how nobody notices this! They clearly designed the generation to be electric only, then figured that nobody is buying it and then fitted some new parts on the old F56 and co. Apart from the door handles the windscreen angle is very different between the real new generation and the old rehashed one

    I love how the JCW retains its performance roots with the 2.0L turbocharged engine, but the lack of a manual option is a bummer! It’s like sacrificing a bit of the driving experience for convenience!
