It's time for a hypercar vs supercar showdown!

We have actually got Mat in the , and he's going up against Mark McCann in his all-new ! It's been 12 years given that the 's release, so can it hold up against the much more recent ? Let's take a look at the stats.

The 750S is powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 that produces 750hp and 800Nm. This power is sent out to the rear wheels by means of a 7-speed dual-clutch, and the car weighs 1,440 kg. As brand-new, it costs ₤ 277,000.

Then we pertain to the P1. It's powered by a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8, and combined they produce 916hp and 900Nm. This power is sent out to the rear wheels only through a 7-speed auto, and the vehicle suggestions the scales at 1,490 kg. But being a hypercar, it's oh-so a lot more expensive than the 750S – Mark purchased his recently for ₤ 1,200,000!!

So will it be a walkover for the P1? Or could the more recent 750S nab it? There's just one method to discover … LET'S RACE!

IPAS (Instant Power Assist System) in the McLaren P1 is a kind of boost button that provides instant extra power from its electric motor. When pressed, the system immediately adds around 176 hp to the main engine, making acceleration even more brutal. But the duration is not fixed it depends on how full the hybrid battery is. Usually it is only enough for a few seconds or one or two overtaking moments. So its function is more for a momentary power burst, not for continuous use. Similar to KERS in F1 but the road version.

@@TheShattan sorta but not necessarily. GT3 RS is extremely track focused and has a significantly slower N/A 4.0 H6 engine. The Turbo S has a stupid fast turbo H6 with AWD. Their is almost 1/2 a second difference between the two cars 0-60.

750s and Mclaren P1 both have turbo engines, RWD, and weigh a similar amount, and simile 0-60 and 1/4 mile times. P1 is more track focused but it’s a much older car and I’m sure something like the 765LT would keep close on it’s heals. 750S should be somewhat close as well.

At the end of the day though, comparisons do not have to make sense!
