This is the Honda Super N!

This mini genius is based on Honda's Japanese market N-One e kei car, however it's been scaled up for the UK and European market.

The thing is, can this small EV with a very small cost use real competition to more recognized little EVs such as the Renault 5? Let's take a better look.

Beginning with the style, there's no denying that the Super-N has real existence on the roadway, regardless of its small size. The boxy design assists it stand out, and it's just readily available in one colour – the purple you see in this video! The front end really exhibits the blocky nature of the cars and truck, and along the side, the flared wheel arches offer it even more presence. Around the back, there's a small spoiler to make you think this could be a real pocket rocket.

Nevertheless, that's not truly the case. The Super-N is powered by a single electric motor driving the front wheels, and this just provides 64hp. There is an increase button to help increase power for a small period, however this just boosts output to 95hp. What's more, the battery is small, with the Super-N just having a variety of up to 120 miles!

On the within, the Super-N's construct quality is aligned with its small price. There's plastic across the dash, with the majority of the products within the vehicle cheap to the touch. There's an infotainment screen, which, while relatively fundamental, a minimum of features Apple CarPlay & Android Auto, and the digital dials screen is small however does what it's supposed to do.

So the Honda Super-N rolls up with an expense of simply ₤ 18,995, however does it truly provide excellent value for money? And did Honda slip up only offering it as an EV? Stick with Mat to see on your own!

      @slmroelives.985

      And unlike mat, i don’t see the low range as an issue because, i am not gonna take this out on a roadtrip anyway since it is so small. My main issue however is the charging stuff which is very slow.

    2. @nemanjap8768 Avatar

      Its too expensive for what it is, needs to be 5000 to 10 000 cheaper

    3. @ShivamArya-yf4ku Avatar
      @ShivamArya-yf4ku

      The battery itself is small so the charging times are similar. Only issue I see is range added per minute in fast charging but I don’t think 5 minutes is a big deal for most people. And If you’re frequently charging with a supercharger then its anyways more expensive per mile than Petrol @slmroelives.985

      Agree. However, people won’t be buying them. They’ll buy boring and dreadful Qashqais and T-Rocs and complain about inflation at the same time. I agree with incentivising small cars by giving owners tax breaks. Like anything under 99g C02 and 1200 kg for example and penalising big SUVs over 2.5t or 100k list price.

    In Japan, there’s an even smaller original version called the N-ONE, powered by a 660cc turbo engine and paired with a 6-speed manual transmission.
    It’s the perfect little car for having fun on Japanese roads. It may not be as stylish as the Fiat 500 TwinAir, but it’s like a more practical and far more reliable Honda take on the 500 TwinAir. It’s a shame kei cars aren’t sold overseas, probably because of safety regulations.

      I think it’s possible to import kei cars into the UK, so if you can find an importer that specializes in kei cars, you might be able to buy one.
