    how much do tires & different ABS systems affect these results?

      @toleth88

      Tyres make a huge difference, for most cars upgrading tyres is the single best thing you can do for improving stopping distance.

      Well the ABS is part of the car’s braking system, and tires won’t make that much of a difference on dry roads unless they’re absolute crap

      @@PalpatinesPlumber if a tire has more grip,the abs has less work to do . i don’t think your statement is correct

    Brakes on American cars are a joke. When I’d park my Charger next to a BMW of the same size, even a base model not even an M, they are double the surface area.

      Well they are meant to go fast in a straight, not stop fast in a straight 😅

    American is made to go forward. Fast. To them breaks are literally optional. Meanwhile in eu if you get better engine, you get better breaking

    Back in 2009 one of the most important feature leading me to buy my first German car ever: the breaks! Audi has unbelievable smooth breaking. Until I got to own a Porsche! That’s Audi on steroids! Love German cars. Every one has its priorities. Mine is to drive and German car! 😂

    Но на удивление тормозные диски на G wagon очень маленькие для машины таких габаритов

    I have to admit as a Brit, Mercedes brakes are very good. Smooth, yet powerful

      When I had a 03 s600 RennTech, the brakes were crazy expensive. But I do miss that smooth yet very responsive braking.

    Think about it, Germans need to be able to brake on a whim on their own highways. Their cars MUST have very good brakes for that 😂

    It’s funny Mercedes brakes are so good, because people driving Mercs sure never use them…

    Powerful German cars are MADE for unlimited German autobahn, where they have to endure heavy breaking from 300km/h…

    Once upon a time, ‘someone’ found themselves on an Off-Ramp doing 220 kmh. Oops… A foot moved from full throttle to hard braking in not very many milliseconds, thus triggering the Mercedes Brake Assist System (BAS). Oh. My. Gawd… One could see nothing out the windshield because one’s head was yanked forward and down. The speedometer however was in clear line of sight, and one has never seen the needle change position quite so fast, and in the opposite direction (counterclockwise). While all this was going on, the foot was reporting complete Brake Failure, because the pedal was being pulled to the floor, feeling light to the foot. Seemed like a Brake Failure. At the same time, one’s face (being pulled off forward) was reporting that the brakes were working just fine. Then the speedometer needle reached 80 kmh, and the brain said, “Oh, I can take the curve at 80 kmh easy.” So the foot released the brake, the head popped up, the curve was still a bit further ahead (room to spare). Went around the sweeping curve at a comfortable 80 kmh and continued along. It was an Oh. My. Gawd. moment of highly impressive braking. Oh yeah, the ABS was scratching away at about 30 Hz the whole time, but hardly noticed it due to all the other excitement. So I was told…
