Saab has cooler cup holders than that. And they are quite old at this point
Yes, my 2006 Audi A4 Avant 2.0T has one. I wish I had two if I,M honest though… 🧐
Audi and Porsche we’re ahead of their time with their cup holder design and placement! 🥤
Used to have it in my alfa 147, great feature! Then alfa decided to take it out in the Giulietta 🙁
My first car (Polo 9N3) had that. Never used it though.
Got cup holders in my 97 Avalon XLS .
MK4 golfs have an even better version, best cup holders I’ve ever used
Except the rear ones which are terrible lol
But if you have navigation system/2-Din-Radio and you use the cup holders, you can´t see the screen of the Radio… And if somebody put a softdrink in it and you drive “sporty” all buttons are full of that and don´t work good anymore 😀
Sorry for my bad English.
I had a sport a4 with this. Gotta love German over engineering
I hated my a4, it had one normal sized cup holder and then a weirdly small soda can sized one behind it
Because you can spill it on your screen, this is risky place
I drove a4 b6 for couple years never spill anything:D
@Vydas Liudvinaitis guess you never had an American fast food drive-thru drinks
this is the best cupholder design. its tough, holds normal sized drinks, including 500ml cans and no issues. and its in front of the vents, so you drink stays cold during summer. or hot in winter 😏
You know what keeps going through my mind – where’s the fast food holder?
But those cup holders are in almost every car today, usually placed in the center console (and there are usually two of them not one). It is not that you have discovered something new.
Agree! Especially in smaller cars with less space. Also I want to know why cameras aren’t standard yet apart from Teslas.
Cameras in cars?? Who needs that? Take the bus!😂
@Mac F As in dashcam and rear facing camera. Not internal cameras.
@Mason & Motors Ah, got you!
I had that in my 2007 s4, it was ace. The newer s5 I had, just used two holes near the arm rest, big backwards step 😞
Because, if it spills when you stop, it’s the end of your electronics.
I drove a4 b6 for couple of years never spill anything:D
Coffee cups does come with lids.
@Olli Honkanen soft drink cup lids are known to pop off and make a mess
Because we all want the condensation from our drink to drip onto the radio and climate controls.
I’m sure it’s the finest German plastic as well. Wonder if the soft touch coating will peel before it just breaks entirely.
Every one of those will fail if you use it regularly, along with your glove box hinge.
It’s the worst place to have a cup holder.
Music system be like “you want to dirty me too”
My old VW bora had one positioned just above the radio back in the day. In fact, it was a two cupholder and the air vent was right behind it. It was ideal because you could put the air-conditioning on and your cold can of Coca-Cola would stay nice and cold. Or if it was a hot drink he would just put the heating on to keep your drink warm… just have to make sure there are no spillages. Otherwise the water runs straight down into the electrics. 😵
