    The BMW is normal, it’s the Urus not putting its power down.

      For some reason, the Urus has always struggled putting its power down. The Cayenne Turbo (S/GT) has not struggled at all.

      @@Angus_____ that’s exactly what I’m saying. It’s strange how the Urus can’t get as much grip as a comparable Cayenne or even something like an RSQ8 or Bentayga. They all share the same platform.

    Most manufacturers give figures under its actual value so in worst case scenarios you will always hit their stated figures, its like when you do them 0 – 60 timings and you find they are 2 seconds quicker than stated

    1. @ALMX5DP Avatar
      @ALMX5DP

      I’m not sure you can generalize them as all doing that. I think each OEM do things their own way so it’s not like an industry standard.

    Everyone knows that despite what BMW claims from the factory, they install a little particle accelerator after purchase to give it that little more oomph. The circles on the rear bumper aren’t parking sensors, but actually ion cannons.

    1. @lyesaissi3616 Avatar
      @lyesaissi3616

      No. BMW gives real power to the crankshaft (tested on dyno). This is not the case for all manufacturers (announced power higher than actual power (example: Renault)

    2. @cam_s_ Avatar
      @cam_s_

      @@lyesaissi3616 close, they give the real dyno figures at the wheels instead of the crank like most manufacturers

    3. @samp6162 Avatar
      @samp6162

      As a tuner, I personally found most cars give or take (more give) a few bhp from the claimed amount. What’s more interesting though is how differently the engines behave under certain conditions. For example, cooling. After a few blasts the engine may not get as much cold air depending on the setup IE poor intercooling.

    Not just BMW. I saw a Dyno comparison to published figures on YouTube and BMW, Audi, and Porsche were about 7% more than published. Lambo was about 5% more. BMW seems to get the HP to the wheels more efficiently.

    bmw posts whp figures, not crank power figures. bmw and porsche also post slower 0-60 times than they can actually run but I’m not 100% sure why they do that
