He's got his hands on a brand new Rivian R1T Quad Motor, and he's taking on a Corvette Z06!

It's a petrol vs electric head-to-head, however does this gigantic all-electric pick-up truck have what it requires to reduce among the most renowned American sports cars? Let's have a look at the statistics …

Beginning with the Rivian, it's equipped with 4 electric motors (one for each wheel), and these combine to produce 1,025 hp and 1,624 Nm of torque! It features launch control, but it likewise includes a significant weight, tipping the scales at 3,170 kg! New, it costs from $119,000.

Then we pertain to the Corvette. It's powered by a 5.5-litre naturally-aspirated V8, and this develops 670hp and 625Nm.       Same goes for the plaid. Being way faster accelerating, great top speed especially with the ceramic track pack upgrade. Not being awful build quality like older teslas instead good build quality and as usual carrying your entire family, luggage or groceries

      ​@artoodeetoo3064 To be fair, the Turbo S is more like a super GT car (4 seats, although the 2 in the back are quite tight) and the ZR1X is a full supercar/hypercar.
      Both perform really great and are lovely machines, but they have 2 different aims.

      @axxamit Actually, 8.9s is the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) time, not the 1/4 mile. An 8.9s 1/4 mile would make this minivan faster than a Bugatti Chiron! For a 2.6-ton Denza D9, 1/4 mile times are usually in the 15-16s range.”

      In Europe it’s 3500kg, included in that number has to be a 75kg driver. That should mean that you can’t sit in the car with more than 3 people people or no more than two people + luggage

    When Matt said he pressed some buttons and it got quicker, what he actually meant was, Rivian changed the limiter from 110mph to 130mph 😉
    Plenty of youtube 1/4 mile runs out there, 11.7 seconds 1/4 mile @ 110mph. 10.6 seconds @ 130mph.

    The Gen 2 R1T can reach 130 mph when placed in Launch Mode. To activate Launch Mode select Sport Mode in the Drive Modes section, then press the flag icon, and hold both the brake and accelerator pedals simultaneously before releasing the brake.

      ​@tontonn9995 Launch mode was initially only on the Gen 2 but Rivian also added it to Gen 1 in a recent OTA update. However it looks like Gen 1 cannot reach 130 mph like the Gen 2 can.
