KIA RAY EV is better tho, at least a far better vehicle for purpose use.

There are just so many EV’s coming out in the market that it’s really difficult when to buy. It’s a good looking car too!

I would recommend you lease at the moment. I have a friend who works for Audi and they are replacing EV battery cells at 3k a pop under warranty at the moment. Its still very new tech. Honda have gone hybrid 1500cc engine with EV battery that gets charged by the engine. 60 ish MPG I believe. Honda and Toyota do not believe long term Japan can produce enough green electricity for all these EVs. Personally I’m still firmly on the fence regarding full EV’s

Got a Kia Niro EV2 – great car. To all the EV haters – just try driving one – great seamless power delivery – smooth drive all way through. As long as you got a driveway to charge up safely no real problems. Yes long journeys need a little forward planning but bo biggy whilst ya grab lunch/take a break. Would never go back unless for ££ reasons.
    converted Petrol head biker 👍👍

I would be interested to know your EVs range in cold weather (see What Cars multi Vehicle EV test at Mill Brook) most EVs seem to get 100 miles less range than the official figures at around 11 degrees C in the UK. If you only use yours for commuting locally you probably will not be effected.

And completely abandoning the entry level market.

Do you not see this as a grave sign of a top -heavy market economy fit for collapse??

There’s something really retro about it, the interior especially, the logo being off centre is a callback to cars from the 80-90s

I think it reminds me a bit of the Land Rover Defender.

    This is a beautiful EV
    Exterior is OK, acceptable.
Interior looks excellent ; simple-clean-tidy dashboard layout, horizontal display.
And drive shifter on the column frees up center console area from unnecessary clutter.

Nice interior. However, I personally am not so keen on the exterior design. From the side it looks more like a military utility vehicle. Can’t imagine the box-like shape does much to improve efficiency.

The HVAC control seems to have been designed, by someone sitting in the passenger seat.

As to the outside, it’s another IBC on wheels. When they did the wind tunnel tests, could they not find anything but a breeze block?

Excellent review & car. Disappointed that remains FWD and probably prone to torque steer especially in the wet. Will salivate over a potential GT or “N” spec AWD version in the future. Ioniq 5N is nice but just too big. This is perfectly sized for a hot EV. Only other disappointment is the slowish charge speeds. Other 400v cars now do 150-170kW, (and Tesla 240+ kW with 400v!), so no excuse really but the charge curve is more relevant than charge speed, so let’s see.

And AWD version???!!! Now, that is different to all competitors in the US in the segment: Bolt, Kona, Niro, similar perhaps to Equinox.
