Crosstrek getting its new hybrid option and this cheaper EV will definitely shake things up for Subu. Looking forward to seeing how this does with the C-HR. Looks like the segment is getting competition…Subaru (Crosstrek/Uncharted) and Toyota (Corolla Cross/C-HR)

Hybrid or Gas only, no electric vehicle. I take my outback off trialing. I have not seen a ev charger out in the middle of no where. I bring an extra gas cans.

Those vehicles are still available. They’re not taking them away from you.

This is the dumbest argument I’ve ever seen. Electricity is everywhere, and far more places than gasoline is available. Charge up before you leave the road.

      The uncharted is EV only

Lol 1% of people will actually go to “the middle of nowhere” with this. This will just go to work and home , and for that, EVs are far superior.

@GregHassler no argument here, I just stated my opinion. I bought a Subie to go out on the back roads, to go camping and hiking. That’s all.

Eight years ago, I chose the Subaru Outback for two main reasons:

    1. It delivered Toyota-level reliability, but with a premium interior—without the Lexus price tag.

    2. It carried that sporty legacy (WRC, STI) you could see on the outside and feel behind the wheel.

Now, with this new Toyota partnership and their style facelift, both reasons are gone.

There is a large segment that EVs can never be practical for. ICE or hybrid is the best you can hope for to keep or gain customers IMO

That moment when you realize subaru’s main advantage (the AWD system) goes completely out the window with EVs
