    Thanks for the great video!

    I hit 1 year on my 2024 Blazer EV RS AWD next week. 16,000 miles. My biggest complaint is the narrow headlight beams. Makes slow, dark corners in the neighborhood unnerving. Also doesn’t light up the ditches well on highways/freeway. Otherwise great car. I do a lot of freeway cruising. Very quiet and comfortable. Seats are flat but comfortable for me. I think the Google Maps nav is excellent. I use Apple Music and Apple Podcasts through Bluetooth and use “Hey Siri” when appropriate.

    I LOVE the rear camera mirror and 360° camera. I don’t find the HUD very useful, so I rarely have it on.

    I wish I could leave the headlights on without it dinging me. I wish they’d just stay on forever and shut off when the car shuts off.

    Back seats are huge which was a big selling point for me.

    I am happy for your expanding family. The Arkansas eTraveler is a usable creation and I have gained much insight into our charging infrastructure maturity process. Thank you Landon.

    Congratulations on expanding your family! My wife and I have the exact car as your except in white. We paid almost the exact price as you! Ours was $39,990. I think we both got a great deal! It’s not perfect but we love ours. We don’t road trip much but imo the charging is the Achilles heel of the car. It’s annoying to have to turn the a/c off to get decent charging speeds m the summer. We’re in Arkansas too so the heat really slows down the DCFC charging. Thanks for the review. Pretty much echoes our experience. But no one pedal driving? That’s the best thing about EVs! I’m just giving you a hard time, I get your use case. And btw, we don’t miss CarPlay a bit. We also have a Model 3 so we were already accustomed to native apps. Keep up the good work!

      Thank you! The regen on demand makes up for not using one-pedal, to me at least. That’s a pretty fun quirk of the vehicle. Glad the deals last summer didn’t stop with me and glad you enjoy yours as well!

      @@TheArkansaseTraveler Try this when DC charging. Use a windshield sun shade. People forget that the windshield is facing more toward the sun than most ICE cars and that glass has the least tinting than all the other glass which is where most of the heat is coming from when charging.

    Thanks, Landon. In terms of the heat pump, I think that the issue might be with the defogger. My understanding is, when it comes to defogging the windows and cabin, even a heat pump won’t help because the AC needs to run to dehumidify the windshield and cabin.

    In terms of the gross battery capacity, it appears that it could be as high as 90 kWh (assuming the 103 Ah cells), so the buffer is likely 2 to 3 kWh.

      @@shethjones4494 It also depends on how it’s being measured (IEC vs ISO standards), but what really matters is usable capacity and what is displayed in the car itself.

    Aren’t you concerned how long the cars battery will last? And how much will the replacement cost be?

    1. @TheArkansaseTraveler Avatar
      @TheArkansaseTraveler

      Not really. I do have a 150,000 mile battery warranty on it. 51:51 explains more.

      @shethjones4494

      very few people with Evs have ever had them long enough to face a battery replacement, its a made up issue by people who try to cast shade on EVs

      @@TheSlotwhisperer007 when did I say that? I said battery replacement is a made up issue. There are EVs with 100k or 150k miles on the same battery. The warranty on the GM battery is 8 years/100k miles- does that sound short term to you??? Not to me. If you have info to share about widespread battery swaps let us know.

    You were right about the Regen paddle, did some driving and it doesn’t give more the firmer you press it. It does add to the regen when using one pedal driving, it slows you down faster than only one pedal regen. Thanks for the video, we got our RS July 2nd 2024 so we also have had it about a year. I only thing I wish was better is the fast charging and I have not seen the “dip” like others have, just too slow in today’s EV market.

    1. @shethjones4494 Avatar
      @shethjones4494

      for someone who charges at home I disagree. The prologue, equinox and MAch e all peak at 150kw. A huge proportion of non tesla dcfc in this country is 200kw or less so the reality is that in many cases you aren’t going to get super fast charging, especially on a 400v vehicle. 800v vehicles can charge significantly faster but most of our infrastructure can’t charge those vehicles as fast as they are capable of being charged.

    A spring and a couple hinges is all they should put onto charge port doors. That’s not the place for engineers to show off.

  20. @shethjones4494 Avatar
    @shethjones4494

    well the EPA range on all Evs and non evs is mixed driving, not highway driving. So its not that it struggles to hit 279 miles in the conditions replicated by the test, its that it wouldn’t hit that on the highway which is NOT what the EPA range is predicting.
