@@pete5405 around 1.75 to 1.8 tonnes is pretty heavy actually for a compact high performance sedan. It’s light compared to the new M5 and the C63s E Performance, but still. You’re right.

Okay no hate but you aren’t that well informed so allow me to do so, these two cars differ only about 200 pounds in weight and the Porsche launches especially well due to the engine being on the rear axel giving the rear tires vast amounts of grip. That paired with Porsches PDK dual-clutch transmission allows it to accelerate past the M3 and thus beating it to the quarter mile.

@@sydneysidwell8070 you are clueless. Power to weight ratio is minimal in this case. Bmw 1700kg, Porsche 1500kg. It is not why the Porsche won. The big advantage is the engine placement which helps a lot in stand still racing. In the rolling race Porsche had no chance, go watch the full video

The porsche has weight over the rear axle. They also tested it against a RWD M3 not an Xdrive AWD. A 911 base also costs more than an Xdrive M3.
