New Porsche 911 GT3: The Truth!

Change your cars and truck with :

The GT3 has actually been updated!

has actually just lifted the lid on the mid-life facelift of the 911 GT3 & GT3 Touring, and Mat's flown over to Germany to meet with the head of 's GT department to learn just what's altered on the new automobile.

Following the unveiling of the updated 911 earlier this year, Porsche fans might have been worried that the brand- would roll up with an upgraded, hybrid-powered engine. However we can formally confirm there is NO hybrid powertrain in the ! It's maintained the exact same 4-litre naturally-aspirated flat-six as in the previous edition, and it still produces 510hp and 450Nm!

In regards to the design, you 'd be forgiven for believing that hardly anything has actually changed on the new vehicle. And in traditional 911 fashion, not much has! There's an updated bumper and some brand-new headlights at the front, while at the back the wing has actually been updated slightly, while there's also a new set of taillights. Otherwise, it's all practically company as usual with the brand-new GT3. And naturally, that's no bad thing!

On the inside, it's all still traditional Porsche interior goodness. However there's one BIG change with the Touring. For the very first time ever, it's available with a set of back seats!

So it looks excellent, is 100% petrol-powered, and the practicality has improved. But naturally, it does not come inexpensive … A brand new GT3 will set you back at least ₤ 157,300!! But is it worth it? Stick to Mat and see for yourself!

      @MrInternFTL people with children, friends, and so on. If you can take your kids on a drive with the GT3 Touring, now you have that option. Most of the people who installed rear seats on their GT3s say that they use the car a lot more than before, mainly because some drives that would be impossible without rear seats, now becomes possible.

    For everyone complaining that these cars dont have more horsepower, you do not understand the entire purpose of a GT3. Porsche has NEVER been about adding crazy horsepower numbers. They are building RACE CARS. A Ferrari is also a race car but its meant to be a challenge for drivers to tame. Porsche is trying to simplify the driving experience, make it safe, and make it EASY to hit high speed with the most control. There is a reason that GT3 RSs are always near the top of leaderboard times on alot of tracks. Thats an experience that can not be replicated with 900 hp. Its a road going race car in the truest sense. Race cars dont always have block breaking horsepower. They have enough to sometimes break traction but not enough to overwork the chassis. The price is definitely high, but you are clearly paying for performance. Want to go fast in a straight line or shatter windows when you start your car, go get a Lamborghini or Ferrari. You want ostentatious, you came to the wrong place.

    4. @Sidewinder5 Avatar
      @Sidewinder5

      @NotAdamSnider Buy a turbo s then. There is a reason a 500hp gt3 rs is in the top 10 of the Nurburgring. More hp doesn’t necessarily means faster.

    as a GTS 2018 owner, I can only hope the turbo protection / seals / exposure to road has changed, less than 24K miles and the turbos need replacing, so you need a warranty otherwise it’s just short of 15K, there are literally dozens and dozens of these issues, so check. There’s even an internal Porsche service bulletin, for issues just short of a recall but still happening a lot more than expected, get the warranty
