@@Alex-if3sr Figured, that is like the main selling point of diesels isn’t it. Since these top of the line models are sort of performance cars, you wouldn’t mind losing the sound performance by going for diesel over petrol? Or do you enjoy the sound of a diesel engine more?

Torque is only a factor until you lose traction. I expect it’s more down to gearing

Torque is just a part of the measurement for power.
It’s like measuring speed. It’s two values calculated together.-My car is going fast, because it’s going at 40 kilometers.

per minute, which is 240km/h,
per hour, which is 40km/h, or
per second, which is 144000km/hSame with torque.
It depends on the RPM and comes out just to give you a value in HP (or kW, whatever unit you prefer). In the end it’s all about power output.

@@mehfoozpitbullkhan2 lol this is X7 M60i and M50d and the M60i is a high trim which isn’t Equivalent to m50d. Both produce almost 750Nm which is the same Torque amount 😂. This is like comparing a N/A V8 Petrol to a N/A V6 diesel.

The physics behind this diesel is only likeable to torque endeaver while petrol is more devoted to horsepower..
That does’nt make diesel stronger or superior….
For sports oriented SUVs and crossovers u only need petrol anyday specially with M embellem..

@@mehfoozpitbullkhan2 exactly and that make diesel engines stronger. If you even know what stronger means. So Diesel have highwe torque and less horsepower which often used in towing And holding weight.
For example. You have Diesel V6 car and Petrol V6 car. Both can move 80km/h with 3,500RPM at 2nd gear. If you tow both of them with about 700kg things. The Diesel is gonna stay almost the same Status but the petrol will be 80km/h approximately 5,800 RPM at 2nd gear or maybe 3,500RPM at 3rd gear. Got it?. And i really like Diesel more because it’s way more fuel efficiency and tougher

@@HellHawk0 yes u got the whole physics behind the scene…ur example is valid that’s why trucks and bulldozers are equiped with diesel..
If u ask me i am a motorsport nerd my preferences maybe different I am a daily sports car driver…I am not that much Richie rich to afford exotics but I got affordable japanese sports cars in my collection…
I do drift…drags…donuts routinely that’s my hobby in free time..
Unfortunately it can’t be done with diesel…yes diesel is cheap to afford maybe u drive a family sedan or suv that’s good for u..
I am petrol head..sports freak..

Diesels do drive the nicest as a daily tho, I daily a V70 D3 tuned to 200hp 453Nm and it is actually pretty lovely to drive. Not fast, but all the torque, don’t need to downshift when I want to overtake someone

50D is 3.0L diesel. 50i is 4.4L petrol engine. 😂

Weight only matters in the beginning. While accelerating at higher speeds, aero dynamics are more important. Since the petrol excels at higher speeds, the weight doesn’t matter.
